Ring Delay

I noticed that with the Touch Pro 2 I still have a major delay in the ringer. meaning, when someone calls it doesnt ring until after like 2 rings. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a fix or tweak to make it a little better?

Mine comes in on the 2nd ring. It isn't as bad as the original tp that's forsure.

One thing you can try is change your Slot Cycle Index from default 2 to 1 in EPST, but that'll require you to obtain the MSL code.

It uses just a LITTIE bit more of battery though, but it checks the tower faster.

Also use a small ringer and store it in the main memory instead. That'll speed it up too.

I made several test calls to my VZW TP2 tonight. Call came through after 1st ring and there was no delay with the caller ID/ring.

i have similar problems with mine. many of my friends complain about me not picking up until the 3rd or 4th ring even if i pick up the fone immediately. and i find i have to pick it up immediately otherwise it stops pretty quickly. how do you get the msl code?

i also read in the touch pro forums that if you take off any dialer skins it may help

I can confirm the SCI modification works well. I've seen these same slow ringer response threads consistently for Sprint HTC devices - 6700, 6800/Mogul, TP1, TP2. For anyone having trouble with their ringer response, just change the SCI setting to " 1"and your issue will be solved. I know, its hard to imagine why Sprint keeps setting it to "2" but its a known issue and easily solved by following the instructions below.

Here are the steps:
Call Sprint Tech Support and ask for your MSL code (I got mine with no problem, didn't even ask why I wanted it). Dial ##778# -> "edit" -> enter your MSL -> "view info" -> "modem settings" -> highlight "slot cycle index" -> "menu" -> "edit" -> select "1" -> "ok"
