I never found changing the SCI made much (if any) difference in the ring delay.

My TP2 rings 99% of the time on the 2nd ring heard from a landline. I did try changing the SCI just out of curiousity as I have done this on all my previous PPC's but I didn't notice any change whatever.

I played around with my settings today and found that my Touch Pro 2 would ring after the person calling me heard two rings on thier end.

I dropped it down to 1 and it didn't do anything, when I switched it down to 0 then my TP2 would ring between the 1st and 2nd ring the caller heard.

ive got sprint, black skin dialer , no ring tweeks and before the second ring my phone is already lit and ringing !! hope might keeps that the same. dont fix if it aint broken !! :)

My callers hear two rings before I hear the first one. I get four rings before voice mail kicks in. This has happened on all my htc devices. I just learn to count the incoming rings and grab it before the fourth one starts.
Various tweaks cabs have an adjustment for "ring delay". This supposedly avoids the 3 sec. delay. I have never found this tweak to work on any htc.

The only "tweak" that I have ever found made a real noticeable difference was disabling the bloated POS HTC dialer when I first got my original TouchPro.

In that phone, (when the phone was all stock) going with the WinMo dialer made it ring two rings sooner consistently. Later, some of the custom ROM's made this unnecessary.

Changing the SCI (slot cycle index) has never made the slightest difference as far as ringing quickly in any phone I've tried it in (& I've probably tried it in six-eight different phones) & it makes your battery life worse.

It has sometimes helped for me, on any given device. It really depends when the ring comes in during your pre-change test, and any other calls. It is 50-50 as to whether a call lands at the right time for your phones polling, or is 1 slot cycle off. So it will help on about half of the calls, long-term.

If you have a Sprint Touch Pro2 this is the only way to get your MSL other then to call sprint.
1. You need a Reg edit tool like PHM RegEdit or resco registy editor.
2. Go to HKLM\Software\HTC\ATDbgLog
3. Edit item called "Enable" and change from "0" to "1" (leave out quotes.) Save changes.
4. Exit PHM RegEdit or resco registy editor.
5. Shutdown/turnoff device.
6. Turn back on.
7. Once turned on leave running for 1 minute or longer (a log files is being created durring this time in the "\Atlog" folder.)
8. After 1 min go back into registry and set value back to "0". Make sure to save changes and exit PHM RegEdit or resco registy editor.
9. Shutdown device again and turn back on.
10. Varify that the Registry value is still set to "0", if not then repeat above steps and wait 1 min before shutting down the second time in step 9.
11. Now you should open Explorer and go to the folder "\Atlog" in the root directory of your device.
12. You shoould see a file called "ATDbg0" (the "0" may be another number like 1), if your using another file browser you may see the full file name include the "xtx" extention. This file is a text file and can be opened in Word mobile.
13. open the file and use the find feature to locate "RMSL", you should soon find a line item that includes a 6 digit number, this is your MSL code.
