The specs for Sprint vs VZW TP2s.. The answer on interchangeable battery covers here

i noticed i assumed a few times they were indentical, but hadnt actually checked.. so i went to HTC to check it out(by the way htc europe page has HTC Tattoo Android showing) ......YES, VZW and Sprints are Identical in every dimension
both 4.57"(L) x 2.33(W) x 0.68(D)

for fun i did telus.. http://www.telusmobility.com/en/ON/h...79/index.shtml its metric 114mm(L) x 63mm(W) x 13.35mm(D) used mss converter and got this 4.49"(L) x 2.48(W) x .52(D) - Telsus' wouldnt work..

so i dont see why VZW and Sprint covers wouldnt be interchangeable..

I find it REALLY hard to believe that HTC designed a different CDMA phone for Telus.

I did some measurements on my telus phone with some calipers and this is what I got:

4-73/128"(L) x 2-21/64"(W) x 45/64"(D) => 4.5703125"(L) x 2.328125"(W) x 0.703128"(D)

Looks a lot more inline with the numbers you got except for depth, guessing there could be some variability in the cover thickness etc which could account for the difference... also could be rounding + human error.

Hands down Sprint TP2 back cover looks really ugly. Verizon looks professional.

It's amazing how different people's perceptions are on these covers. I think the Verizon one looks like crap because of that pseudo-globe thing they have on it. I love my Sprint cover, and yet most people think the pattern of the holes and the orange makes it look bad.

Frankly, I hope they really are interchangeable. It will make it easier for 3rd parties to design custom backs for it that way.

My roommate is getting a Verizon model, and so is my Mom, so I'll be able to tell everyone for sure next week (if no one else posts first, of course, lol).

yea i dunno... those r specs from telus' site, then coverted using MSSConverter for the conversion... did seem odd to me it was off... standard-> metric/vise versa conversions are never perfect...

The specs listed on Telus' website and HTC Canada are both clearly wrong, even though I would like to believe my phone is as thin as the Diamond. The user manual for the Telus TP2 list the proper dimension....but im to lazy to look tbh

uhh, so the carrier AND the manufacturer have the wrong info??? not saying errors dont occour online, but itd be nice if instead of a lurker youd contribute on this one...

and post the dimensions that u say are different... page 294 of the user guide, i cant get it to load online

Sorry about that. The specs from my user guide are 116 x 59.2 x 17.25 mm (4.57 x 2.33 x 0.68 inches)
