Soft reset and viola.

The only change here from the default configuration is the Unicode support setting. I can't find any SMS Unicode Support key in the registry that would match this, so I'm wondering if the advanced config tool creates it. Would you mind searching your registry for this key and tell us where it is. I really hate to install the advanced config tool because a) it requires CF and b) I've had it make undesirable changes to my phone that I wasn't aware of.

These are the settings I'm using:
Messaging > SMS Sent notification > Enabled
Messaging > SMS Delivery notification > Disabled
Messaging > SMS Unicode support > Enabled

I messed with those 3 settings and the message sent pop up no longer happens. Cheers.

I tried these exact settings with advance config, and now I have a different Popup that comes from the bottom of my screen that says Message Sent.

Every time it pops up I just start laughing. It is like an insect that will not go away! There has to be SOME way to get rid of this popup!

THANKS VZW for adding that annoying feature :)

I'm not phain so I don't know if this is the same or different but the only instance of SMSUnicode I found in my registry was in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings and was a DWORD called SMSUnicode with a value of 1 for me as I also enabled it through advanced config.

All of you who just saw that one post about using advanced config, refer to this post I made later.

http://www.ppcgeeks.com/forums/showp...&postcount=117

I promise you it's working. I've soft reset many times tweaking other settings since then.

Re: Disable VZW TP2 Message Sent

I have an update on this. I did the steps in reverse order and stopped when it all started working properly.

From the bottom, up, I got to the last regedit stated and it works. After sending an SMS, I get an icon in the taskbar up top, but there are no popups and no sounds. It sits there for about 1.5 seconds then goes away. That's good enough for me.

So, what I did in order was:

Opened up advanced config again, set:
Messaging > SMS Sent notification > Enabled
Messaging > SMS Delivery notification > Disabled
Messaging > SMS Unicode support > Enabled

Soft Reset

Opened advanced config, set:
Messaging > SMS Sent notification > Enabled
Messaging > SMS Delivery notification > Enabled
Messaging > SMS Unicode support > Enabled

HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Default : Options set to 0

Soft reset

So, thank you Phain!

Anyone else confirm this? Also, what exactly is Advanced Config doing? Is there a way to do it without using it?

Yes my friend just opened his TP2 and this is definitely a confirmed fix.

Open up advanced config and set:
Messaging > SMS Sent notification > Enabled
Messaging > SMS Delivery notification > Disabled

Reg edit:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Default : Options set to 0

Soft reset and enjoy.

Phain - Since you're doing the all the registry edits, do you get the notification icon in the taskbar that I'm getting?
