i can get the names to change but it still pulls up the contacts. I was trying to set up the weather panel on a second today i can get all that to work just having trouble remapping the soft key and i also noticed that the soft key programs do work on the phone but it only works for the today screen (tf3d shut off)

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

just found this too. what did htc do? i try to change the keys via local>software>htc>manila> then change path and text for soft keys... but it only changes the text. now my left soft key doens't do anything lol damn it. Has anyone figured this out yet? I typed in the path same way i would've in original tf3d on tp and it just won't take.

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

my today screen default keys are camera and contacts from what i understand some phones where shipped with contacts and calander. i cant stand having a camera softkey almost everytime i open it i open the stupid camera. this is very irritating.

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

I can't seem to change them either. I have tried so many different combinations and none of them work.

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

I know it does not make sense but I was able to get the left softkey to work buy changing the following keys:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\Manila

HomeLSKText = what text you want displayed
HomeRSKPath = the path to the program you want. ***Notice RSKPath***

I set mine to:

HomeLSKText = E-Mail
HomeRSKPath = \Windows\tmail.exe

And my left softkey now opens email??? I have not been able to change the right softkey yet.

Don't know if it will work for anyone else but give it a try!!

amazing find!!! this should be put on the tweaks sticky so people know.

i can confirm that right soft key path does in fact change the left soft key path... you still have to change left softkey text tho... but now i can map resco explorer or anything else to left soft key... really strange that it's swapped in a way. im not so concerned with right soft key because i like having contacts there. thanks again! oh and changing either path does not change the right soft key path...

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

I'm sorry to ruin the moment but I just changed both my soft keys like normal, and it worked!

HomeLSKText = Contacts
HomeLSKPath = \Windows\AppButtons\Contacts.lnk
HomeRSKText = SMS
HomeRSKPath = \Windows\tmail.exe

Keyed the edits, exited PHM reg editor and went from the settings tab to the home tab and violĂ*.

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

/\ weird... any other verizon users able to change it normally? On sprint's it is messed up i think. or did we just install some tf3d tweak that messed it up?

It seems I can't get it working...I can get the soft key changed but then pressing it does nothing...can you explain what you did it get it working?

Hey guys do you know the .exe file to have the weather app on the soft key..?

sfxc13 09-24-2009 04:45 PM

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

So I finally gave up and just used SSMaHo to rewrite both keys.
Did notice something unusual. The file that the right key is pointing to is Manilla://people/browserlayer/peopleAll.page

Did a registry search and there is no such key. So guessing it is written into a file somewhere.

I am trying to remap the left soft key to rotate the screen. What is the location address to have the display turn into landscape (such as when you open the keyboard)?

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

I was mapping to the .exe not the .lnk, hence the error.

This was one thing I hated about the stock rom - I couldn't stand having the camera as a softkey. I just use HD tweak with mighty - I have mine setup phone and sms which I think Mighty use to do on his tp1 roms so that is what I was use to.

Has anyone found a fix yet to remap the RIGHT softkey on Sprint TP2 6.1 stock rom?
(Gotta be specific since some folks can change it and others can't)

HD Tweak didn't work on my OEM Sprint ROM. It would display the text, but the link wouldn't work.

I like having the contacts as a softkey though, and Mighty screws this up!
I'll try the reg edits.

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

I guess no one has a fix yet for the stock rom on Sprint. "Contacts" isn't that bad; I just find it redundant what with there also being a "contacts" softkey on the "People" tab (which makes far more sense anyway).

Just be glad you don't have a "camera" key in place of that contacts key like us USC folks...I bet I hit that camera soft key no less than a dozen times a day, and it's a slow sometimes getting the camera shutdown!

I was beginning to wonder why no one was mentioning HD Tweak until the 4th page... lol has always worked fine for me...

Sim-X 02-11-2010 11:58 AM

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

HD Tweak didn't work on stock when I had it -

I don't think there is a fix to change it at least for the stock rom or any fix I know about.

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

The reg edits worked under Mighty, but I didn't try them on the OEM Sprint ROM.

Now if only I could get bluetooth to work properly with my head unit....](*,)

Re: Remapping softkeys on home page

everything worked out for me, I used Total Commander \\Plugins, registry, HKLM, software, HTC, manila......now idid not have any HomeLSK Text or Path, seems weird to me but i did have the settings for HomeRSK Text and Path ( Idont want to change the Right side, as this is the Internet) so i wrote in the left side as a string, left side is Camera.exe Put anything u want here as an .exe ( \windows\"what u want".exe) this will b ur path....... u have to write one for text as well. use Add new value..... this will work! just PM me if u want to know more.... i will not be back here to check this forum!
