Re: internet connection problem

i just installed HTC WifiRouter and use a wifi connection to my phone from whatever I am trying to tether with. No cables, no fuss. Really fast too. Like 2.3 MB download speeds which is good for this area. Also I diabled to the is???.dll in the registry.

here are the changes I did to get it to work (I did not download the ics cab)

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings]
"ForceCellConnection"="Sprint" (it will always revert back to say "phone as modem" when you reset your phone)

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
"Extension"="" (i deleted the isext.dll after 'extension')

I used total commander to do my registry changes.

I am curious as well if the stealth cab posted at PPCG does the registry edits for us or if they still need to be made. I am new to WinMo and have not made any registry edits yet on my TP2 and just installing a cab seems easiest. I just searched and could not find the post I found when reading tethering threads to install ICS and the stealth cab, but I installed both and everything works fine so far.....

I installed WMWifiRouter when I first got my TP2, but I suspect that it may have disabled internet on my device. Sprint CS on the phone could not get it back after 1 1/2 hours they had me do a hard reset. The fourth required so far! Palm OS, although my centro was not that good of a device at least it was stable!!! I did not have many programs installed prior to data not connecting: Google Maps, Waze, WMWifi Router---I think that was all--I am trying ICS to see if it was WM Wifi Router that caused the data failure(error code 67) or if it was Waze--doubt it would have been GMaps..... I was about ready to ebay my centro, but if I have to hard reset many more times I may ebay the TP2 instead:protest:
