HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Script
change from as5p to v0p (that's v-zero-p) - for vibrate & ring, or p (ring only)

Then Went to
HKCU\Control Panel\Sound Categories\Voice Command1

And then I Set AttenuationCategory to 1
And Init Vol to 11 and that turned up the volume and I get all my announcement through my BT not a miss yet.

It is important to note that if your value under AttenuationCategory is not a DWORD meaning there is a blue D instead of a (ab) you need to delete it and make it a Dword Value.. I hope you understand that LOL..

Anyone try this on a TP2? From what I've read it seems that it probably won't work because the TP2 doesn't use a MS BT stack. It would be great though if it does. Please post if you've had success with it.

We have had 8 of pages comments and nobody has mentioned what version of MSVC they are on.

Here goes...

I am on v1.6.21725
Device: HTC Rhodium EU (Unbranded GSM)
ROM: NRG Photon 21864, OCT28 Release

This seems to be the latest build out there. It's about 2.xx MB unlike most of the previous builds which averaged around 4.xx MB.

Now back to topic. Everything works well for me on this version except 2 things

1) When the phone rings, it announces the call over the phone speaker, but the volume is so low that it makes no difference wehter it makes the announcement or not

2) I haven't played with the registry for MSVC yet and so far the only options I have worked with are "Enabling the audio to be piped from the BT headset" and "Checking the Announcements over BT headset only" for MSVC.

What ever I do, I can't seem to get the announcements to come through my BT headset.

What does work for me however, is dialing my contacts via my BT headset. All I have to do is Press and Hold the button on my Plantronics 855 and it opens a channel to MSVC and I can dial out.

Why don't you guys having trouble with dialing from ur BT headset give this version a shot?

Also, please check this out.

That is a fair suggestion, leepriestenator, but I believe the initial purpose of the thread was to alert folks of this existance of the issue (out of the box) with the stock ROM.

Given that this particular device is being marketed towards or at the business or professional user, it was a surprise to me (and aparently other users) that this very basic business-user feature would not be configured optimally, out of the box.

I am still waiting for a fix for this. This was one on the main reasons I returned my tp2 and went back to my. Heavily Hack tp. I still got hope for the tp2.

It might sound strange to some, but I won't upgrade to a device until I have confirmed at a B&M store that this functionality works as I expect.

I'll go to the store, conduct a test and if it doesn't perform, I'll be sure to explain to the clerk how it should behave and that I won't be purchasing until it is working as expected.

Has anyone gotten incoming caller id to work with earpiece yet?

With the Jawbone, depress the rear stud twice to initiate VC. If the headset just powered up it will activate VC on one dperess. Thereafter==two presses on the talk button (on the Jawbone headset--rear button)=one long press on the talk button on the hanset. Make sense? not hit or miss--two presses on headset (because you can't control the length of pressing the talk button on the headset) means that two presses = one long press on the button on the physical device.

The best I have gotten is caller id announced over the handset speker, but I was connected via bt headset (Jawbone).

I was even more surprised that the sprint update from March didn't address this issue. Frankly, it is the first thing I checked after I flashed the update ROM.

Most folks are having difficulties (reality is that it seems impossible) to get caller id to announce over the bt headset. Initiating calls seems to be pretty clear to folks, but as you have noted, can be different from one earpiece to another.
