Re: Voice Command Caller Anouncement over BT

I got everything working including announcing incoming call ID with my Blueant Z9i but I have one issue with the slow response or delay when I initiate the call with bt headset. Does anybody know how to fix this lag between VC and bluetooth headset? With TP1, vc and blueant z9i work perfect.

That's different; that's the "confirm when calling by name" feature, which is separate from the live caller ID ("announce incoming calls") feature.

All my email/texts are announced over my headset when its paired and in use...My voice command works just like it did with the TP1...

Thanks for the helpful post. Yes, we understand how to get text announcements working. Mine reads the entire text message through the bluetooth.

What we really need to know is how to announce the ID of the incoming caller over the bluetooth headset. Something that no-one has been able to do, with any settings.

What settings to get it to announce incoming caller ID?

I also have the lag - slower than with my prior Razr V3c. Not sure if anything can be done about that.

Well I don't know how to automatically get texts announced and then read via BT - where are those settings and what should they be?

Per above, at least one person has this working. I'd also like to know how.

1. Settings -> All Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command ->Messaging -> Options -> Uncheck "High Priority Messaging only"

2. The one person who thinks they have it working is really talking about voice dialing. Outgoing phone calls. Not caller ID.

Cool! Just tried it out and it works great!

Announcing Caller ID not so much...
Interestingly, I had a phone about 5 years ago that did this just fine with a corded headset.

No prob. It might work with a corded headset, since the problem is related to bad bluetooth software and not the MSVC software itself.

Do be scared to throw some thanks my way...haha. I don't get props all that often.

I apologize for not being specific...my entire text and email is read...sometimes I have to look at my s2u2 prevew to make sure the voice command is working right since it reads 9:00 as nine-zero-zero vice 9 o'clock.

My settings for notification options is only when using bluetooth hands free only.

In fact when I'm connected thru my mono bluetooth headset...all audio streams thru my headset. turn by turn voice nav, music, audio from video files...etc.

Try the following:

Settings>>Comm Manager>>Bluetooth>>(the gears tab) Advanced Settings>>Audio

then make sure you have checked "Play system sounds on remote hands-free device"

That's cool. But what we're really looking for is for when my old lady calls me it talks to me and says, "Your old lady is calling!"

That's what we need but we can't get unless we use a wired headset for some reason.
