Re: Official Touch Pro 2 defects thread

Seems the problems are sporadic at best, with the key focus being on the pixels. Neither of my Sprint TP 2's seem to be experiencing any issues. Both of them still have the plastic under the slider. Neither of them are "grinding" on the plastic. Neither of mine are experiencing stuck or dead pixels, and my wife has not said a word about the keyboard.

I can say the same about both of my original TP's. Guess I am just a lucky guy. Maybe I'll start a topic on people without problems...

My plastic under the keyboard edge started to bunch up so I just took it off. When I did I realized it looks like it was there just for shipping. Definitely has not hurt my keyboard sliding at all.

Well I just received my replacement yesterday and it has dead pixels too. I thought i saw a program somewhere that tried to juggle dead pixels. Does anyone know where I can try this or where to find it? I thought I would at least give it a shot.

search dead pixels on www.m.youtube.com and run the pixel fixer, made mine less noticable, but none i can see in normal use so i dont care

I have an issue with the Slide to Answer never answering calls and crashing the dialer for the most part. Oh and my 1 key on the keyboard sometimes makes a cliky sound.

TP2 #1: locking up/software issues
TP2 #2: terrible rattling noises in the earpiece
TP2 #3: randomly drops to 1x and even with all bars, and even if I turn off data and turn it back on, it won't go back to EVDO. I have to go into airplane mode and back out to get EVDO.

Rep seemed really angry when I did this last exchange over the phone... what are my options at this point???
I can't seem to find a specific policy on exchanges through telesales. They are charging me like $30 for each exchange, so it's not free.

Get a Iphone!

No, but really... I don't see where people are getting all these pixel defects. I have 2 w/o any, and my friend just bought 2 for himself & his wife. 4 TP 2's. No pixel issues. It makes me curious if this is a specific LCD batch that is having the issue.

Everyone with dead/stuck pixels should post their MFG date to see if we can narrow it down to a specific group of phones. Perhaps the thread starter could correlate all these dates & create an accurate graph.
