that is after the mir of course. called retentions, and mentioned to them about the verizon tp2 being 200 after mir, and after verification, they hooked me up.


heres how they billed it

phone billed to me for 449.00
instant 150 posted to my account.
100 mail in rebate = 200 beans :angry7:


now just to be clear, i have been through alot with sprint. was a victim of fruad on my account back in nov, so they prob showed mercy on me. i was eligable fore my upgrade also.

well im actually suprised that verizon is offering the phone cheaper then sprint. usually its the other way around. now they are selling the tp for 99.00 on the site

I wish this deal was up a week ago lol friend just got a tp1 off ebay $185 to come over to sprint. would have been good to negotiate a price match for her.

anyone can bargain with any company. sprint called us because we're premier plus we've bought maybe 12 different phones during our 9 years(my wife was due in july). they offered the tp2 for XXX(won't say, real cheap though). my wife turned it down. we don't want the poor quality build anymore.

lol I work for them and tried to see if I could get a deal since im not up for upgrade yet. They gave me a harder stiff arm than Jerome Bettis in a Monday night football game. Didnt hurt to try though. They gave me the whole "well your bill is already free" thing ah well.

im on sero, they are wise to it if you try to get an upgrade before your eligible for a new contract.

I advise against calling retentions if your on sero you may lose your plan.

even paying full price on a sero plan its still cheaper for the year to just buy the phone outright.

though if many people call to threaten cancelation sprint may indeed have to price match to verizons prices to stay competitive... who knows

What did you show to Sprint to verify the price of Verizon? I tried to do this last week but I only had Engadget to go on and the lady said that isn't credible, which is true.

like i said i called retentions about the verizon deal, see details on my 1st post. id imagine they arent stupid enough to trust me, prob called verizon to see what they are offering the phone for, ooooor already know what the comp is offering. either way, i got my tp2 for 200, and didnt even have to pay the 18 dollar activation fee. to tell ya the truth, wait till verizon shows the price on there site on the 11th, and b.i.t.c.h. then.

In my own experience, if you have valid reasons and if your contract has or is about to expire, Sprint will work with you w/o much haggling, but you have to be on your best behavior and be lucky to speak with an understanding representative. If you have no luck, politely call latter and you will be surprised as I was. Prices on phones are really meaningless. MSRP has more to do with marketing it as a "high end phone" than with what they really paid for it - so you have to be one of those customers that represent a bigger loss for them gone. If they think you are not a profitable customer, then you will have a tougher time making a case.
BTW, if you have a business ID # the MIR becomes and instant rebate.

Call regular CS and I believe it's prompt #5. I called last week and they gave me $100 credit on my account because I was looking at upgrading to the "Diamond, TP or maybe the TP2 but the TP2 is rather expensive..." so he credited me the $100 without even having to order the phone, gave me unlimited data, etc for $5/month, pick 5. Now I'm eligible for my upgrade too, so the phone will be $250. Not as good as the OP, but heck I'm not complaining. Just some nice chit chat w/ the retention rep, playing nice and even if I don't get the TP2 I'm still ahead!!

I'm actually going to switch to Verizon unless Sprint offers me a better deal. Usually, I call retentions just trying to get something, but the fact is, where I live, Verizon is a much better service, and I'm seriously ready to make the switch.

Sprint keeps telling me I need to upgrade my SERO plan to the $70 data plan in order to get the TP2, and that I'm only getting the $524 price due to my contract.

So, right now, I'm spending $30 + TEP + taxes per month, but a $524 phone AND a new plan will be outrageous. $200 ETF + $200 for VZW TP2 = $400, and I'm getting the same plan. Seems like an easy decision to me, since Sprint sucks balls.

Talked to retentions nobody will do anything for me. Im over a year away from my 2 year on all 3 of my lines. Best they offer is 100$ credit. Looks like 200 Sprint ETF + 200 Verizon tp2 = 400 is the best deal I can get.

Might be heading to Verizon if i want a TP2. I cant think of any other way to do it without spending 600$. I get better service with Verizon anyway.

Well i got $150 off "2yr contract of course" free next day shipping, no activation fee, Additional $70 off "because i said some of my friends got additional $50 off ;) " and 25% off all accessories at store. So i guess the biggest thing with me was additional $70 off. So $280 before tax.

It may be cheaper for the phone to go to Verizon, but I would be willing to bet you would pay more over the life of the contract with the monthly bill than you would have for the same level of service with Sprint...just my .02

i just paid 510.00 for my tp2 and i am seriously considering returning it and just getting the diamond instead, i had the touch but i can't justify 410 after rebate for this phone... its nice... but its not 410.00 nice especially knowing that my vzw counter parts are getting it for 200 bucks

damn man where were u when i made my thread about my phone call... i dont need to keep it a secret, since i made a thread... Sprint Primier Rep called me and offered me one for 199 flat, no MIR, like 2 weeks ago(still had to wait fir availability though)... i post a thread about it, and i got called a liar and all kinds of stuff.. you shouldve chimed in for me... i had one guy in particular that just wouldnt let up.... and it funny, he was like the first to get a TP2 in the mail LOL

about price matching... im a "salesman"(LOL) and a chef, so im used to telling people what they wanna do and how they wanna do it... i treat sprint the same way for the most part... their always great for me... i was planning on calling Sprint monday, after VZWs had been available for a few days... if i get them to price match, ill probably buy 5 of em and sell on ebay and craigslist for 300 flat.... heck ill do it as many times as sprint would let me really...

its not a scam, just a price match... just gets turned into a hustle on my end for the re-sale is all..

Feel free to try your company and see. Most of these are done through a third party called BlueFish, so might be able to get a deal. Of course this doesn't help many people sicne you need to prove you work there, but hey, it shows you can get for $199.99 w/o trying to scam or convince retentions that you'll leave sprint (which you probably wont) if you don't get for cheaper.

I have tried everything, multiple times, on multiple days. I've talked to Telesales, SERO Telesales, and Retentions. One girl in retentions tried to look up Verizon having a final price of $199, and said it doesn't show up on Verizon's site. T-Mobile's site is showing $349 now. The fact my 5th Mogul is on the way doesn't matter. I spoke to the supervisor. She said there was a STRONG directive to not give any other credits in association with someone buying the TP2, the Pre, and one other model, I forget which.

So I gave up for now. I'm not going to pay that much up front. They wouldn't even sell it to me for normal price with them applying the rebate up front. NO DEAL

They will have the full tax too, so more like $260 for the VZW people. Apples to apples, since you including tax in your Sprint price. I'm not going to pay it either though. I can wait till hell freezes over.
