How to dump ROM?

I've been trying to dump my Sprint TP2 ROM by following the instructions at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...s_HowtoDumpRom

but have not been able to unlock applications. I've tried setting registry 0000101a to "1" and to "00 00 00 01", neither of which has allowed me to use pdocread.exe to read my phone. Any advice?

That should do the trick. Install this .cab then soft reset. Then go ahead and dump.

Thanks. That worked!

This is a stupid question, but I'm not going to be giving away any personal information when I dump and distribute this ROM, right?

Correct only the actual ROM itself is dumped.

is there another location for the info on how to dump a ROM? I have searched but this seems to be all I am coming up with. of course, I could not be using the correct search terms too! I want to dump a custom rom I'm using to load it into Caulkins kitchen and remove what I don't want. I love the ROM itself and most of the stuff in it, but I want to remove a few things I don't need or use. thanks!!
