Picture quality on HTC Album bad on certain files?

I don't know why, but I put a bunch of my pictures on my phone, all sized larger than the resolution of the phone, yet they look low resolution and compressed. You can see the compression artifacts plain as day.

They are saved with barely any compression at all (they do not look like this on the computer, the album program is doing this). Anyone know what's going on?

It's definitely the program because one of the pictures looked incredible when I first viewed it on the phone when when I went back to it, it was compressed again. Almost like it's caching them as a small file but never showing the actual quality. :-\

Trying Resco Photo viewer now. It's too bad the newest one is STILL only an Alpha after all this time.

Just tried the new 2nd Alpha of Resco and the photos look incredible. Every one. In fact they almost look too sharp now and I think I'm going to back off on the sharpening in PS after resizing for the phone.

Still curious to what is going on with Album because I'd prefer to use that until this Resco program is more finalized.

also with the compressed picture files im having a different problem... when i view them in the album the picture looks fine but once i set it to the wallpaper it looks all grainy. its the right resolution and size. im finding all these cool wallpapers for the tp2 but they look like crap as soon as i set it as the wallpaper. also with the album it does not rotate using the gsensor when viewing pictures. that would be better if it does!

I had the same issue right from the start. Noticing that pics look crisp when viewing in the pictures tab but then after applying as wallpaper they lose a bit of vibrance..

Also issues when flicking through some pics. They are blurry until I select it and it opens full screen then it looks normal.

Lastly issues now with corruption of thumbnails. You I click library it shows all the pics as thumbnails in the folder. However some thumbnails are duplicated and are incorrect thumbnails entirely as they open a different pic when selecting a pic...

Ugh.. hope this gets fixed!

I noticed the same thing. I opened a pic in the cam/pic viewer and it looked blurry. I checked the properties real quick to see if it was a smaller file. When I closed properties and looked at the pic again, it was normal and looked great

and rechecked the properties and it was the same size file.

This keeps happening to me. When I open up the album, the pics are total crap like 1/10 resolution.

I found if you have the bad pic open, then hit the phone hang up button to minimize album, then open album back up and the pic is normal and looks great.

Its almost as if it only loaded the thumbnail the first time and not the entire pic??

Same issue! Some of my pics a blurred as compared to being shown on my Pro. also some pics show up as a black screen.

i know i hate that!! i find all these cool wallpapers but once i apply them to my wallpaper they look like crap! what a waste of a nice big screen!

i just download these hd wallpapers. once i load those cabs the wallpapers are nice and crisp.. the way they are suppose to look!

i found if you zoom in and out it fixes it, but we should have a real fix!!!
