If you go to that link I posted and select 8GB from the pull-down, instead of 16GB you will see that it's $18.34, which is a really good deal from a reliable source (Amazon).

I got my Transcend 8 gb class 6 from NewEgg for 16 with free shipping. Have had it for almost a year with no issues.

Re: SD Card Speed/Compatibility

in my Touch Pro now, may go in my TP2 or I may leave it for my fiance and get a 16gb for the TP2. I have 7 movies on it and LOTS of music and apps. It stays almost maxed out but the movies take up the most space. Without movies it wouldnt even be close. Just depends on what your going to put on it.

I received my card today & I have to say I'm not impressed at all. My class 2 4GB Sandisk card smoked this thing in both benchmarking tests and a 550 MB copy from card to desktop test. It took 3 seconds to copy the file from the Sandisk card to the desktop and about 45 seconds for the Transcend.

Re: SD Card Speed/Compatibility

if your not paying the money for sandisk branding, then A-data, transcend are both good...

you can get an 8gb class 6 a-data(i have 2 of these) for under 25shipped at newegg, well last time i ordered thats what they were...

Thanks Bored. I just ordered the 16 GB A-Data to see if it's any better. I expected a lot more from the Transcend card than what it delivered.

Re: SD Card Speed/Compatibility

It could be because the Transcend card is so much bigger. I ran the SiSoftware Sandra benchmarking utility on both cards and attached the results. I also used the benchmarking utility in SKTools with the following results:

Sandisk 4GB Class 2 micro SDHC card:

write = 487.16 KB/sec
read = 13444.20 KB/sec

Transcend 16GB Class 6 micro SDHC card:

write = 408.73
read 16384.00

I have an A-Data 16GB Class 6 card on order and a Kingston 8GB Class 4 card on order. I'll run the same tests on these cards when I get them.

What doesn't make sense to me is that I was getting a crazy fast rate of 160 MB per second with the Sandisk when I transferred a 500 MB file from the card to my computer using the adapter that came with the Transcend card.
