Re: Stuck on defective TP1, Sprint BSing me on upgrade!
Dude I WORK for Sprint... it isnt an uncommon thing with the touch pro whatsoever. And that 3 time and then cancel thing doesnt really mean much other than people getting screwed over after they spend all that money on a device that continuously malfunctions. Ive seen it more than a few times just here in the office with people HERE that have them.

Re: Stuck on defective TP1, Sprint BSing me on upgrade!
My first ppc was the Apache/6700.
That was the perfect phone. The only thing it was missing was gps.Yeah it was big, but with an extended battery it would go for days without recharge, it never overheated, and the screen worked perfectly. Plus ppcgeeks at the time was awesome, and the custom roms for wm5 were fast, lean, and easy to install. Since then I have had a mogul, touch, touch pro and various palm devices. All of which have burned out keyboards, overheating problems, rainbow screens, and horrible battery life. They all have been horrible. I have done numerous trips to the sprint store for repairs, none of which solved my problems. Both of my current touch pros (mine and my wifes) are constantly overheating and draining the battery. She only uses her phone for talking, and it still overheats and dies. SO I feel the OPs pain. I could do a bunch of returns, but at this point I am sick of waiting 1-2 hours at the repair store during my lunch break, only for them to tell me that there is nothing wrong with the phones battery dying after 30 minutes with a full charge. People on here have to admit some things, yes there are some people committing insurance fraud, but for those of use who willingly pay $7 dollars a month to get another broken refurb, we are getting the shaft. I am hoping that this new tp2 will finally have a good build quality, good battery life, and a usable keyboard and touch screen. Plus the sim card support is perfect for my trips to the carribbean. But i have my doubts!! |

The fact that a hardware related issue hasnt happened to you [yet], does not mean it dosent happen at all. Your assumptions about his 'grubbyness' is not only unkind, but also quite inaccurate, and is, at least, an indication that you have, within yourself, some issues you need to resolve. Not everyone is a con artist; and thus, you do not need to catergorize and judge everyone you encounter with hardware issues in such a demeaning fashion. We're all here to learn and help each other. Lets keep that in mind, yes? |

Re: Stuck on defective TP1, Sprint BSing me on upgrade!
Honestly, most of the posters here are acting like *******s. Seriously, get over yourselves. How many defective replacements should a customer be expected to receive before that customer is entitled to a new product?
I bought from Sprint a BRAND NEW touch pro in July. It stopped powering on on my 3rd day of owning it. I called up sprint on day 4 and they agreed to send me a "replacement". Now they never mentioned it was going to be a refurbished phone. So, after 4 weeks of things going well with the touch pro (refurb) It starts to power itself on and off and overheat and refuse to charge even when plugged in and turned off.. So I call sprint. They send me another TP. So, I'm sitting here with my 3rd touch pro, my second "refurb" and the keyboard just stopped working. So, How many Bad Refurbished phones should I be expected to go through before I am entitled to a refund or an upgrade? Cause I just bought a Brand new phone, and Now I have a series of broken defective USED phones. Sprint absolutely OWES me. |

Re: Stuck on defective TP1, Sprint BSing me on upgrade!
I used to think the samething about people having to get so many replacements. But, now myself, I'm seeing the samething with my TP1. I've been with sprint for over 15 years. I had never had a replacement until I got the motorola rzr 2 a few years ago. So for 13yrs, everything was fine. Then the Rzr 2 dead pixels and charging issues brought on my first replacement. Then the instinct came along and it went well. Then I upgraded to the TP1 out of pocket.
After 2 months the keyboard was almost seperated from the body. There was just way to much slack in the slide. They tried to fix it in store, but offered me a replacement. The refurb I got looked brand new. Seemed to work better than my original. Well, that only lasted for about 3 weeks. Now the keyboard keys are acting up. If I type a sentence, nothing appears on the screen until i gently rub the spacebar. Sometimes keys just start repeating after you touch them. I'll be taking it back Monday. So, after being effected first hand, I can see where people who really use their phones alot (cause I don't really type much) could be on their 3rd or even 5th phone. I guess with all the new functionality comes less build quality to keep prices down. I don't really know. But I've seen these issues first hand now and I'm a believer!! |

Simple pleasures for simple...minds, eh?
How nice of you to join us, Mr.8820....with your usual repetitious four word sentences and attempts at sarcasm, which, as usual, is irrelevant and contributes nothing to the thread. So glad you could make it. Its also nice to see you can stay on topic, my new favorite member! |
