Re: Text messages not being marked as "read"...

I've had this problem with my TP1 and now with the TP2 as well. The WORST part for me, is that when I click on an "unread" message in the history, more often than not, it will bring up that contact's information. I then have to close the contacts, go back into threaded SMS and continue clicking to clear the unread flag.

I'll try the fix tomorrow. Thanks guys.

just take the file in the zip and put it in the windows folder.
i havent tried this yet either so i can tell you if it works or not. but you guys tried everything else?

I have tried this with no luck. Every time I try copying the .dll file to the windows folder, after I get the "replace file?" option and click yes, I get an error saying "Cannot copy 'htmlnote': Access is denied."

Any ideas?

you need to use resco explorer or total commander to copy the file over into the windows directory...windows file explorer will not work.

Since Yay4Juggs didn't say anything else here's the cab. The file in it apparently came from him. Based on the date I'm assumming it was from an older build of WM. Many thanks to him for making this available as it solves an extremely annoying problem. The purpose of the cab is to simplify the install process for forcing the .dll to overwrite the existing one. You will be prompted to soft reset afterward. Thanks to psycho_maniac for pointing me to the forum where the dll orriginated. there I think I covered my basis this time.

I had the same problem when I first got my TP2 and it drove me crazy. I don't know why, but for SMS it stopped doing it (without installing the fixes in this thread).

I still have the same problem with email. Does the above .dll or .cab fixes address emails as well? If not, is there a fix for marking emails as read without actually opening each individual email?

Thanks a million if you can point me in the right direction...

Cosmo
