Is that why companies like Apple & HTC & Samsung keep pushing stuff to us?

I guess, if your country's square footage is the size of a post stamp, it's easier to get instant tech adoption rate to go 100%...yawn.

Has nothing to do with country size, it's just that people in other countries are willing to spend more on phones than Americans are. HTC is *just* now coming out with a phone with a front facing camera in the US, while phones in Europe and Japan have had them for years. That's just one small example (because it's the only one on the top of my head), but Europe and Japan are far ahead of us in terms of cell phone technology. Of course Apple, HTC, and Samsung are going to push stuff to us because we're a large market, but they adjust their products to suit the market. Boris is correct, we're probably the last to get the cool cutting edge stuff, usually because by the time we get it, it's at a price point that we will actually pay for it lol.

I would have to agree with this, it sucks I know but it's the truth. I remember when the rest of the world had camera phone's and the only way to get one in the US was to buy one from over sea's and pray you could get it to work on your carrier.

Looked on the map lately?

And while Apple is a US company and pushes their crap here first, both HTC and Samsung release top models elsewhere first. That is if they even release them in the US at all.

your right. they vet all the phones overseas, so they know witch ones suck and only release the best ones here. besides, most of those phones are about the same specs in different form factors lately. the only euro model i wish they had released here is the htc shift .

Well, not necessarily. There are some, say, Toshiba phones that are pretty sweet, or whatever else you find on KDDI or NTT DoCoMo networks. Hell, it's hard enough to find even a high-end Nokia here.

It's more like that when a phone becomes obsolete in Japan or Korea, or even Europe, they send it to the US as a new top of the line model.
