And it hit me, While we have back and front pictures of the sprint TP2, we don't have any of the corners. BUT, going back to the leaked roadmap pictures, there were indeed shots for every side/corner of the Rhodium. So what i basically did was use an enhanced image enlarger to see if i could notice any plausible hints that there is indeed a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The original (largest res photo i could find) was 712x533

So what do u guys think?

U have an awesome review and I Thank U for taking time to look for posible hints. But the thing is, When the roadmap came out, HTC is not even thinking of a 3.5mm Jack. They said it will be out on the newer models after the last manufactured model without the 3.5mm. So basically, the TP2 that came out really Doesn't have 3.5mm originally. They redid it b4 the release. So there will be no hint on the roadmap images.

You do have a point.
But in my opinion, i find any info that is in anyway leaked or announced is old news to the general public, there is always something going on behind the scenes, i mean if there weren't, what kind of business practice are people using if everything they need to have confidential is available to anyone nowadays?

While the time line of this all seems really erratic, i think it fits correctly to what it couldve been before any press leaks and or releases.

The original TP2 did infact not have the 3.5mm but press leaks of even a TP2 was possibly a good year ago, i believe along side the release of the TP1.

Then first the road map photo leaks before the 3.5mm jack statement well be for specific carriers.

I'm honestly giving the road-map more credit then a statement, cause statements are just words, when a picture can be more credible. But regardless the 3.5mm jack statement is still credible by all accounts because it is a business choice, aka carrier choice whether to have it or not.

So which brings me back to the roadmap, if this roadmap was in fact confidential at high levels, id say id trust the picture more, then a statement (which isn't a direct correlation to sprint at all, since it simply implies that "some" carriers wont have the 3.5mm jack)

Wow, a 3.5mm jack - what will they think of next? Oh yea, Windows Mobile 6.1 to boot!!!!

The TP 2 is a dead on arrival place holder. Android phones like Hero are the real future for HTC. Microsoft can't get a competitive phone OS out before 2010. Where is Windows Mobile 7? Oh yea, a year too late.

HTC is just putting the last layer of lipstick on this pig to make $. Android is the future. Microsoft is way too late to the party.

Just cause HTC wasn't thinking of it doesn't mean sprint wasn't..such minor alterations as a 3.5mm port sprint could add easy. Also, HTC's plan to include all 3.5mm in future, Sprint and probably all the carriers knew about those plans way before the general public...in large corporations unfortunately it may take even a year for something to take effect.

This of course then debuts the theory of the delay due to the 3.5mm port and the FCC if it were the case.

Yes I understand that. But U see in this image.
http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/5...35afterall.png

Nothing really gives us a hint that it will have a 3.5mm jack. It's just a blank black rectangular area. U just put a rectangle and circle in there. So If I put just a rectangle in the middle. The ballgame will completely be different.

Ok ur irrelevant. I am not saying that Sprint TP2 will not put a 3.5mm jack. I am saying that we will not see the hint on the roadmap Bcoz the roadmap was released B4 they thought of putting one in there.

Edit: I also see the black pretty well..I am on a WLED blacklit screen...also the square isn't the point, it is the circle.

What point did U said is valid? U r irrelevant bcoz U cannot decode what I'm saying. It's really simple. I said, We cannot see the hint on the roadmap coz it was released b4 HTC change their plans. It's that just simple.

I have decoded what you said fine, but you were not able to decode what I said because you were too busy typing the word "irrelevant"...We all know HTC changed their stance..BUT this change could have been publicly or privately..and even if they did or didn't, it is possible that Sprint and other carriers asked for it which had an impact in HTC future decision.

Ok this is a good point. I will use this as an example.
First the TS mislead me that he enhanced the roadmap images. It is not the roadmap images bcoz this is the roadmap Images:
http://www.boygeniusreport.com/wp-co...htc-2009-3.jpg

So looking at the real roadmap, U can see that it is closer to the silver TP2 that is posted Up there. WHat the TS got is the Unofficial Sprint TP2 images not the roadmap images. So I did not really take a good look at the images that he posted coz of the fact that I'm saying. So with the real pics that is posted, It is convincing that it has a 3.5mm jack.

Now to the TS. If U get the largest images of the Roadmap below. WHat will U get? So basically it came down to what I'm saying. We cannot get a hint on the roadmap bcoz it was released b4 HTC change their plans.

U do realize that roadmap came Before the Single Device roadmap photos? (Which btw are carrier specific, so its not from a conference that involved all carriers, it was private) so there was plenty of time for minute changes (again going back to the erratic time line)

I never condoned the idea that u said sprint was not making changes. I was referring to the picture that i posted in the beginning of this Topic.

What you stated was that the photo i posted in the beginning isn't official, Which i find redundant cause who's for either of us to say it is or isn't. All we can say is how closely it resembles the real photos of the TP2 maveaglehas has pointed out for all of us to see.

somewhat irrelevant.

Because maveagleshas's photo showing the difference in size of the bottom is not a roadmap picture.

But if you're referring to the long roadmap picture you posted, then its still irrelevant cause there is no diffenet proof of when it was produced or show in any conference.

But if you're referring to my roadmap picture that i posted, then read Note1

Note1: for the record, jethro you're grammar escapes me. Infact some of you're written sentences are so broken, i get migraines trying to decipher them.

Maybe U don't know what official and unofficial means. The Images U posted will only be official if sprint release it. The Roadmap was leaked last January. If U enhanced that roadmap, U will find a Mini USB in there. Now, Sprint made the changes and that changes is the Images u enhanced. Which is not the roadmap that Ur claiming. Do I have to explain what the roadmap means?
Note: It's not the grammar that escapes U. It's the point and the common sense.

No the problem here is, i've been calling both sets of photos as roadmap pictures, Since that what they were both labeled when i found them. So lets just call the one i found, a sprint jpeg, really i don't care what people call it, and the long one you showed earlier the roadmap.

And the difference of whether its official or not is not the issue, its whether it was intended for releases to a private audience or corporate branch.

My sprint jpeg, would most obviously be for something of coporate level, since its strictly sprint related, But the roadmap u posted earlier would be best suited for a private audience. (most probably made up of corporate leaders, or mybe even just board directors and/or advisers) since you wouldnt wanna mix up people from different carriers since they are all competing against each other.

I agree with the sprintjpeg that U posted is showing signs of 3.5mm jack. U pointed it out. I did not even question if it was legitimate or not. It's not even a question wether that sprintjpg image will be released to the public or not. What threw me off when U mention "roadmap". I saw the roadmap b4. Now, just using my common sense, I said U cannot see the hint on the roadmap. My rebatal stayed on the roadmap. Then I check the sprintjpeg image that U posted again, It already has the modified back cover. so from the roadmap to ur sprintjpeg, there is already a significant change. But still does not prove me wrong on the roadmap issue. So the point is, Roadmap is HTC 2009 plan. We cannot get the hint on that roadmap coz it was released B4 they change the plan. Simple.
On ur sprintjpeg, We can see the hint, Bcoz it is not the roadmap image anymore. It's the unofficial/official document

Ok I can agree to that. But if U see the sprintjpeg images he posted, It is spec'd and already has the final design which cannot be a roadmap coz usually roadmaps does not really say a lot about a product. Like I said, The "roadmap" word just threw me off.
