I think Aug 27 is not going to be the correct release date. It is only 12 days away and we have heard nothing new. My guess is the middle to the end of September.

You've got to remember how gay sprint was towards verizon with the blackberry tour release. They don't want that happening again. I think verizon is smart in being tight lipped about this, but I hate it at the same time. The 27th is exactly one week before the supposed sprint launch date. The phones are nearly identical (and lots hate the orange/meshy cover look of sprint), so hardcore users like ourselves that want the latest and greatest in a "HURRY UP AND RELEASE IT ALREADY" fashion, would be tempted to switch to verizon.

I'm jonesing for this thing so bad, I actually bought the T-Mobile version today, just to have something to play with. I will definitely be returning it, but I had to have something to tie me over. First thing I will say, is THANK GOD the VZW color scheme is not the same as T-Mobiles. The keyboard almost looks bronze. Also, I'm glad the VZW version will have the regular buttons. The buttons on the T-Mobile version are hard to press. I can't imagine why T-Mobile's TF3D internet button launches PIE by default. That seems like a really odd thing to do IMHO.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it is or not. It feels pretty good though. Here's a comparison shot I took, of the TP vs. the TP2.
