I won't die without the camera flash, but gong from the treo to the tp and getting it. I must say it came in handy a few times. I dont think I will get any use from the mute botton. But the rest of the phone is looking great! I think the map is realy cool. I'm glad we get a cool back cover after the boring black on the tp. Can't wait to get this phone! o, btw has anyone heard a release date?

I work as a tech in a VZW store (y'know the guys you yell at when it doesn't work haha), and our QA guy came in about a week ago with a TP2. I checked the hardware specs, and it does have full RAM. Sadly he wouldn't allow me to take pics, so you'll have to take my word for it :\

There's a poster over at HoFo that says August 27th, and he was able to produce pics of a Samsung Saga over a month before release, not to mention he told us last week that demo units of the TP2 were going to corp customers, which we obviously know now is true. Although it's still classified as rumor, I believe him. After all, everything is rumor until it's released anyway. Plus, if history has taught us anything, Verizon doesn't start sending out demo units until 30-45 days prior to launch.

Though, there is a very credible counterpoint that the TP2 it not listed on the current rebate list, which is the list thru 9/7.

I'd love confirmation that the Verizon Touch Pro 2 has GSM support as well. Does the Telus version have a GSM slot too?

That's not really a counterpoint, considering it won't be available for in-store purchase prior to the end of the rebate form. If it truly did hit telesales/online on August 27th, then it probably wouldn't be available in-store until 9/10 (it's usually 2 weeks). They don't send those rebate forms when you order through telesales and online, and they surely wouldn't want in-store customers to see the Touch Pro2 on there, when they're still trying to sell the Touch Pro or any other smartphone for that matter.

Any WinMo site will tell you it does. It is a whole different question if verizon will let you use other carrier sims in it.

wouldnt that voilate the fcc?

what would be the point of the backcover meaning its a "world phone" when the locked the sim feature? or were you meaning carriers here in the states?

if they did "lock" it i wouldnt give a flying F i just want everything the tp2 seems to be coming along with. i never go over seas
