To increase the number of allowed tabs in Opera (from 2):

1. Type OPERA:CONFIG into your opera bar
2. Right near the bottom is "User Prefs'. Click this.
3. Somewhere in the middle of User Prefs you'll see an option "Max Allowed Tabs".
4. Here you can change the number of tabs openable in Opera.
5. Press 'Save' and you're good to go.

I've found I could no longer drag to highlight multiple items in any of my file explorers with the TP2. I deleted completely HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCScroll, you can atempt to tweak these settings but i found fully deleting cured my problem (always back up, just in case) Doing this has completely restored my file explorer scrolling/selecting. Now to figure out how to beam multiple contacts.

Found deleting didn't cut it for all apps (ie file explorer worked great, reg edit was terrible) I'm gonna play with settings and see if i can make it livable

If you're like me and think that the factory alarm ringtones are boring, here's how to add some better to the current alarm ringtone list :

If the song you'd like to play as an alarm ringtones is a MP3 file, you first need to convert it in a WAV format file.

Once it's done, upload the WAV file on your TP2 and move it in the /windows/ folder .

That's it ! The new WAV file will be added automaticaly to the list of alarm ringtones in TouchFlo alarm screen. Select your new alarm ringtone and you're done. Wake yourself up by your favorite songs instead of the old "BRRRRRR-BRRRRRR-BRRRRRR"

Couldn't get this to work. The procedure seems to work okay, but when you relaunch Opera you still only have two tabs. I found the fix was to edit the Windows\Opera9\opera.ini file (pword works fine as an editor). Scroll down to the [User Prefs] section and locate the "Maximum Allowed Tabs=2" and change it to what ever number you prefer. You will need to soft reset for the change to take effect.

These files will make TouchFlo a lot faster and smoother. Before you install driver run the D3DDemo file from your phone. Extract D3DMDemo.exe and copy it anywhere on your phone (Storage Card is good). Run it and see how slow it runs with the default D3D Driver. Then install At0mAng Enhanced D3D Driver.cab, restart and run the D3DMDemo again and see the difference

The cab file contains two dlls both from the D3DM driver and the correct registry settings for d3dm_ati.dll.

Here is a directory of all of the main cabs I have installed on my device.

Tobeychris' Useful Cabs

Certain cabs to note:

Enable Rapi - Disables the security prompts when installing unsigned cabs, etc.

Disable Auto Device Lock - Disables the automatic device lock on sleep.

Disable SMS Sent Notification - Disables the 'Message Sent' notification after sending a text.

Manila Start Menu Unlocker - Allows you to move/remove the first four icons in the start menu.

Enable All Camera Modes - Enables all of the hidden Camera modes (Burst, GPS Photo, Sports, etc).

A restart may be required before the changes are noticed.

I found this while looking around, not sure if anyone is intrested. Its a music recognition app “Midomi”, almost like the iPhone. Now this one is a bit special since its been ripped from a Samsung windows build. I can only get it to work over Wifi for some reason. I found it at the link below,

FIX FOR DATA ISSUE change HKCU\Software\Melodis\Midomi\midomiGU IDType from 3 to 1 and it will work. Also, do not press the menu button – it will lock up the program

Hey - I have installed fonts from this posting at XDA and they work fantastic on the TP2! Check'em out... I tried one that changed the look subtly and it works throughout most applications include TouchFlo.

CHANGE TELUS STARTUP ANIMATION / WM 6.1 SCREEN

You need to install Total Commander and a Registry Change Program (ex. PHM RegEdit)

To change TELUS Startup Animation you need a little GIF as JPG attached file. You can also use the zip attached.

Extract the files zipped, at any location, animated.gif and welcomehead.192.png.

With Total Commander you copy these files at \Windows\ and replace welcomehead.192.png in Windows Folder.

With the PHM RegEdit you have to change the follow registry

HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation\StartupGif

with the animated file path. OK.

Soft-reset.

Anyone who wants opera to close when hitting "x" do these mods. It saves memory as well.

Opera in Task Manager (Thanks to Quarintus)
Code:

• Go to: HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\ExclusiveList\System
• There delete Opera9.exe (now it will show in the task manager)

To close opera by pressing the X-button instead of minimizing it follow these steps:(Thanks to Quarintus)
Code:

• Go to: HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\TerminateProcess
• There, create a DWORD with the name Opera9.exe value "1"

Enable ClearType in Landscape mode
 

In the past I have had problems enabling this hack (TP specifically), because it would screw the colors up. However, it seems to work fine on the TP2, and everything looks a lot better with ClearType on:

To enable ClearType in Landscape mode:

HKLM\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings\OffOnRotation = 0 (DWORD decimal)

To disable:

HKLM\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings\OffOnRotation = 1 (DWORD decimal)

The issue with this turns up when I install a translucent theme for the slider... it seems to screw up the dialer / sensor settings. All fixed! Anyone know how to get the Task Manager reinstalled? I had it on my phone and it seems to have disappeared... :)

BTW - if anyone wants to make Opera default in ALL applications... here's a nice lil app that worked for me.

Try the cab file below, its a wireless router for wireless internet sharing. It will allow you to share your Internet Connection as a Wifi HotSpot. Initially the App can by found under Start Menu/Control Panel/Connections.

I like having the sent notification on. But there is a registry key I can change that will make it only show in the notification tray, instead of doing the sound, the notification icon and the pop up.

HOW TO DISABLE THE “DING” NOTIFICATION SOUND FOR SENT SMS
1. Install a registry editor like Resco File Explorer’s add-on registry editor or PHM registry editor.

Enable Wifi while the phone is in standby. This is good if you use wifi and want to stay signed into msn while hte phone is on standby for example.

I would recommend against general tweaking apps (who knows what differences there are between the person's device who made it, and yours), instead learn to use the registry editor yourself. It's really quite easy. CeReg Edit is a program that can read your phone's registry through an active sync connection. This I find the simplest to use. Total Commander I use on the phone itself.

From my understanding, it is an issue with the build of Opera 9.5 that is included with the phone. I have installed 9.7b1 and the issue has been addressed to a degree... the only problem is that the scrolling breaks then. I am eventually hopefully some guru will figure out which registry key needs to be updated to allow for scrolling in Opera 9.7b1... I've figured out how to scroll using the bottom slider, but not zoom:

To enable more tabs at Opera and Enable Turbo Mode----

- Open Opera
- type opera:config at url tile
- go to users prefs
- search for Maximum tabs allowed // you can increase this number
- search for Turbo Mode // enable

and save this settings.

You can use Advanced Task Manager to kill opera9.exe in processes and use this thread for disable Push Internet.

It works for me and I config opera for 4 tabs and enable Turbo Mode. Now Opera application loading slow every time I pick it, but navigate really fast.

Battery Bar
 

On my highly tweaked Mogul I have a battery meter bar that runs along the top of the screen from right to left in the thin dead spot at the very top of the screen above the top icons. I cant find the cab. Has any one seen this and tried it on the TP2?

Found it! It works great. Just un-zip it and run the .exe (place it in the windows/start folder). It's very 'visual' and I like it . It compliments the new icons on the start bar nicely.

ICS and WModem Fix - Installs Internet Connection Sharing, deletes most references to WModem and restores ICS to the USBtoPC popup on device connection.

You may need to insert a SIM Card in order for ICS to show a usable connection.
