For those of you interested I have made a Customization CAB which will add the following:
-HTC Stock Flip Clock
-Custom Messenger Icon (stock program on Sprint TP2)
-Custom File Explorer Icon
-All Camera Modes enabled
-Disable phonepad vibration when pressing buttons
-Added in-call recording capability
-Alerts from Touch Pro (Glass 2 & Generic Rings 1,3, and 4)
-Renamed Right Softkey from "All Contacts" to "Contacts"

**I have also added a tweak if you would prefer an AIM icon for the messenger application. Install this AFTER the TP2 Customization.CAB if you want it**

ENJOY!

Chris1863, Your cab changes the home icon and settings icon on the start menu to a generic black and white home / settings icon. Can you make these go back to the stock icons? Is it also possible to unlock the file explorer icon? I use Total Commander. Thanks alot for your work.

Here you go, this will change the Home icon back to stock SPRINT. It will also unlock the icons (except the home icon) if you would like to change them. Be aware though, if you remove custom icons and change them to originals, you will have go into the registry to change them back each time unless you lock them. The phone looks for program icons at the following location in the registry:

HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher

There will be 0-29 entries, you will want to change "IconPath" to whatever custom icon you want. I My original cab installs the custom icons to your \Windows directory so an example would be:

IconPath = \Windows\fileexplorer.png

You can lock your new icons by changing "IsReadOnly" value to "1"

I downloaded TSOwens Taskbar 6 Elite Lite or something like that, anyway it made the volume controls have 2 options, one for speaker and one for ringer... Personally, I prefer the old way as I always keep these two relative to each other.

Is there a way to change it back???

Hey Mikenerd,

I too have the Verizon TP2 and ran this for a couple days till i found it didnt "unhook" the volume keys while in phone mode and actually froze the phone requiring a battery pull when used in phone mode. Too bad i really liked it. Coming from an Omnia with the joystick and select button i really miss what this program almost provides.

I only run VolDPad when I am in menus or need the dpad funtionality. when I am done I turn it off. I have it in my start menu where I can get to it quickly. Sorry for the late reply. I see others are incorporating the volume keys to work this way with the keyborard remapper. I like that program...use it for Ctrl button. Looks better anyway

Go to the Settings tab in TF3D > Sound and change Volume Control > Single Volume from Off to On

I have not tried this yet, but looks like it might work.

My sugestion would be to remap the vol up and down to the up / down keys for everything. Then add a rule for each of the keys you remapped for just the phone appp, mapping it to the original key....

Basically create a new key mapping for the volume up key
Set key mode to "Direct key mapping"
Set "key code" to "40 Down"
Check the "Repeat key press each (ms)" option and leave it at 100

Next you need to create a rule so this key will do something different whilst in the phone app. You want it to actually be the volume up key...

Whilst in the same key mapping, click the plus (+) next to the Rule
A box will appear telling you to pull out the stylus and switch to the desired app, then put the stylus in. So basically make sure the stylus is in before you click on the +, then tap the + with your finger, when the box appears telling you to pull out the stylus, do so, then switch to the phone app, then put the stylus back in its' hole. Once you've done that you should see "Rule 2" in the Rule box.
Change the key mode to "Direct key mapping"
Change the key code to "117 F6 - VOL UP, DONE"
Check the "Repeat key press each (ms)" option and leave it at 100
Click on OK

Now repeat all of this for the vol down / down key selecting the appropriate down or vol down actions.

Once you've created both keys make sure you enable them by tapping the "Update Config" soft button.

Hope this helps.

As the person who actually took the time to test and write that original step-by-step post that you copied/pasted into your post, I can confirm it does work perfectly.

What do you do if you want/need to change the volume in other applications. I found that I need to change the volume in more apps then the phone app. Managing multiple rules would be a pain.

Agreed, it would become a pain to create multiple rules for multiple apps. Unfortunately that's the only work around I can recommend. It really doesn't take long though, and how many apps are you talking about?

Not sure how many apps. After the first time I needed it I removed it. Perhaps if I remove the HTC Taskbar notification manager and can click on the volume icon to change it, then I would be okay. I might have to try that later.
