And the Sprint TP2 will be locked from use on US GSM carriers.. it's GSM capabilities only have value if you take it to Europe and use it on GSM carriers over there.

(All of the info provided comes from various press releases and I cannot verify it's validity. Everything about the TP2 is a rumor as of now.

in theory it could be unlocked and used with a U.S. GSM carrier. I have no idea why they bothered but a guy came into my store shortly after the BB Storm launched and as I was playing with it a bit the carrier name said TMobile, for some reason he unlocked the GSM and switched it to TMo, pointless if you ask me but it was there with a Tmo sim makin calls and everything.

i agree, sprint is a joke, i bet verizon or at&t buy them out! the pre can't save their butts!

i know this is a few days late to start an argument but Sprint is actually on solid ground financially and att or verizon doesnt have the money to buy them, besides even if they tried the justice department and SEC wouldn't ever let it happen

i was digging through some of their financials (what i could get a hold of) and they seem ok and the sprint stores in my area have started hiring again...

and for your above comment about why bother with TP2? I'm not going to, if i can get it through insurance replacement then great but otherwise im waiting, especially if sprint is picking up the hero

Yes..and all the banks are stable too...There is no way Sprint is doing well after loosing many customers. Not saying they are dieing..just not what they used to be. They spent a lot of money on buying and maintaining Nextels old network(which they are going to give to Ericson to maintain)...Worst of all they haven't even made any use of Nextel to improve Sprint..I mean like they are competing with themselves and every phone for Nextel is as old as my grandma...

1. i think most banks are probably stable at this point, if they weren't they probably would've died off by now
2. solid ground as in stable, i'm not saying sprint didn't take a beating and losing 1/2 million customers in 6 months was akin to having a pineapple shoved somewhere (take your pick) and yeah they're not in a position to even try to challenge AT&T for #2 but Sprint isn't going anywhere either, they're killing their costs (yes by having other companies maintain the network among other things), they have decent cash flow, and i would dare say their subscriber churn is declining (ever so slightly but still)
so yeah not a powerhouse but not dyin anymore
3. Don't even get me started on Nextel, i've been saying all along it was one of the worst things sprint has ever done and yeah its pointless that they bought it and haven't done anything with it and yeah their phones are jokes, the only one even worth glancing at is the BB Curve and i find it interesting that i actually saw a current model phone get thicker. they should just kill nextel and be done with it but while they phones and data services stink, the iDen technology is pretty reliable, i think anyway
ok, i think thats all my ranting, for now....

Ignorance is bliss I guess..(I don't mean it in a bad way)..but let me explain something...the banks have this thing called "Papers" which have 0 value cause no one wants them BUT banks claim they are worth X$ and put it into their net worth...the banks are in a REALLY REALLY horrible shape...

and on that note..a lot of people think that the US government prints the money..thats not the case..the banks are in charge of that and when people were complaining how government is bailing out the banks..its more of the banks bailing out themselves.

Its so bad that when Congress asked to look into whats going on they refused saying if you do, you would collapse the entire economy.

And nextel..they could have merged it into sprint and use both CDMA and iDen for voice..that way our data wouldn't die when we get a phone call >.>

papers, goodwill, currency, its all worth nothing; at this point currency isn't backed by anything; its only money because we say it is, awesome!
and yeah i knew about the banks making money, its the banks that actually cause inflation and whatnot since they both have my money and yet lend it out so essentially more money is created, etc. and yeah congress is ridiculous, either way, i try not to care too much, again ignorance is bliss

and youre nextel idea is brilliant! thats the only reason why i eye AT&T from time to time is CDMA just ticks me off when my data gets dropped when i get a call or txt. now why couldn't sprint figure that out....
