I was kind of thinking the same way too. Now I am no cpu specialist so if I say something wrong then excuse me, but isnt the gps and cpu integrated in the touch pro? The touchpro lagged when using gps and I don't mean the lag of finding a signal, I mean when you were actually using it and it showed you basically being a few hundred feet behind where you actually were. So maybe thats why they went with an slightly older chip set, so it will fix that problem as well as well as the heat issue. I mean my gps worked flawlessly on my mogul unlike on the touch pro.

shouldnt the thread title be changed already, since the 6th isnt even really a viable date.... we have lots if info suggesting the 8th... and possibly the 3rd for direct ship...

Me too. I'm dreaming of a long Labor Day weekend with a new TP2 in my hands. My wife just thinks I'm crazy I think. :)

I was told Sept 8th 2 days ago on echat, i asked if i could get another line on my account and then asked about the tp2... but didnt know the price.

hopefully this time in 2 weeks we all have our tp2s!! My friend with tmobile got the tp2 and he tried to install a cab and got a message stating he didnt have permission to install the program LOL

Totally not saying this condescendingly, but I custom build PC's so let me just try to see what you're saying. You're saying the GPS was built into the processor it's self? If that it what you are saying and my computer ( I know phones are little different) knowledge is right. The GPS would not be directly built into to the CPU but a separate hardware in the phone, you are a long the right tracks though. The GPS is probably a very CPU intensive hardware/software piece. Most likely these little CPU's really aren't built to what we make and want our hardware and software to run out. Thus the little fusses of technology! Cool?

I guess I was saying something like that, but my reasoning comes from the mogul a few years ago. When the mogul was released there were many threads that talked about the mogul being torn to pieces and that no one could find the gps chip so therefore it didn't have a-gps. But soon after(january2008 I think) someone by the name of kmartburrito(I think that was his name) had a leaked rom/radio that unlocked the gps function of the mogul. Soon after sprint released their official upgrade. So I guess I thought there was some integration since no one could find the gps chip on the mogul before the gps function was unlocked.
