Cosmo

it comes out the box being able to use an overseas sim card...but it wont support US sim cards i think its fix not to do so...so unless the xda wizards find a work around it than it will be international network only

Yes just throw any sim card in for a overseas carrier that supports UMTS/HSPA (2100 MHz), GSM/ EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) it should be just like the BB Tour.

The only embarssing thing is people who claim that the touch pro 2 isn't an upgrade to the touch pro. I think peopl who can't afford it just use that lame excuse. I bet anybody saying that would take one if given to them for free. If you really feel as if it wasn't better you would keep you touch pro regardless of the situation. The touch pro 2 will be getting an official upgrade to windows mobile 6.5 when it is released. The touch pro will not.

First off, I still have a Mogul because I really wasn't impressed with the Touch Pro to begin with. Secondly, according to http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=cpu&id=...lcomm_msm7200a , the processor is a 90nm fab circa 2007, while the original Touch Pro has a more power-efficient 2008 65nm fab which also runs cooler. The ram is exactly the same with a few more bells and whistles http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=cpu&id=...lcomm_esm7206a. What's even more annoying is they use an older processor that's made for dual CDMA and GSM and then cripple it in the firmware. What this tells me is that they probably could have just fixed the TP, but decided to release a new phone with 75% of either old or the same technology as the predecessors. They could have at the very least doubled the ram in this phone, since the beautifully larger video screen (the best thing about this phone) is probably going to take more ram then the original TP—leaving you with less usable ram.

Does this mean that I'm going to pass on this phone? Probably not. It also has nothing to do with price. If I didn't hate AT&T so much I would have gotten all 3 iPhones at full price and left Sprint 3 years ago.

My issue is simply that this could have been a GREAT phone the first run though, especially for the price they're charging. They could have upped the ram, used a newer processor, and released it with Windows Mobile 6.5 as it was released to manufacturers in May http://www.pcworld.com/article/16932...ows_phone.html.

Sprint is pretty low ranking in the mobile communications market. They need to try and to stand out more, and releasing the Pre is a great start. But matching what Verizon or TMobile releases is just another step back in my opinion. Sprint also is HORRIBLE with announcing their selection as they still haven't officially said Sept 6th or 8th or anything for that matter. Regardless of what Sprint CS reps say, until it's in my grubby little hands it’s all speculation.

is that just incredible. Using the same ol cripple hardware but throwing in another .8 of a bigger screen. And then charge about 600$ for it. And ppl are all excited about it. Nope.. not me. I will pass. Tegra is coming soone. thats going to be a nice change in the graphic department.
