CIQ on TP2
Yes, its there! I just found it looking for the spots to tweak it like my TP1.
Found in two spots (so far, will update if i find it elsewhere): 1. HKLM\SOFTWARE\CIQ 2. HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\CIQAgent In 1, you can set/see what it actually has access to, which are the metrics they advertise them to capture like carrier, sw version, MEID, ESN etc. Looks like nothing personal. In 2, you can set EnableCIQ to (0), presumably this should turn it off. |
Wow, very interesting find! Thanks for sharing.

Re: CIQ on TP2
Yea i was shocked no one else mentioned it, but then i guess maybe WinMo was so far gone by the time anyone knew what CIQ was no one remembered seeing it.
Just to clarify, this is the STOCK Sprint shipped ROM. Also in the Windows folder is a CIQArchive folder. Nothings in mine, but its possible these are hidden even with Show All Files. |
Re: CIQ on TP2
Whatever happened to Sprint's claim that CIQ was going to be remove from all HTC phones? Yet another lie?
|
You know Sprint doesn't give two shits about a phone that is EOL. Come on man!
