Another one of THOSE threads!!!

Is there a way to completely disable auto-rotate... Except for when I slide open the keyboard?

We know it eats up ram and gets buggy, by the way you happen to position your hand casually while holding it, or when it's in your pocket and something wakes it up and then when ya pull it out you've got a landscape view with the keyboard close...

Thanks, for all advice and suggestions!

hm... mine only goes to landscape if I open keyboard, otherwise it is portrait no matter how I hold phone

this is by default and to get it ot auto rotate, I have to use gyrator or somethign else

I can post an ap I used to use waaay back when.
You can set the setting to rotate any of the 4 direction, and if the phone is being held in a way that doesnt match your setting it will remain portrait

Idk if that the solution you were looking for but it still works

eyeb I think mine does it cause G-Sensor is turned on... IDK, maybe if ya had a specific rom on it that might be why yours doesn't do it

Alright well its in my earlier post

Give it a shot.
If you set them all off, then the screen will always stay in portrait unless the keyboard is out

You can even add exceptios to it, as in there is a list where you can tel the app to not affect that specific app, like home screen, internet, whatever the case may be

Hmm... let me install it and see what the settings have to be and I'll post some screen shots of what it needs to look like

Yea it wouldn't stop or start auto-rotation on anything for me... Resetting phone now to see if that helps, also trying G-Config and Gyrator... Hopefully a combination of one of these halts the process!

I believe the main key cause of this program is G-Sensor

Re: Another one of THOSE threads!!!

yes, anything that the phone uses in order to rotate the orientation will use the g-sensor

unfortunatly, it will still suto rotate everything. I just looked through it again and everything auto rotates even though I have it set to only be portrait and every thing else in the exceptions was deleted

I guess the program was ment more to add orientations rather then take away.

Sorry about that.
Lemme look for a different one right quick.

I never heard of having the accelerometer enabled eating up RAM,most of that was blamed on sense and the sense dialer. disable that dialer and the memory leak is gone
