Woah! Easy kitty boy! :P
I still use a TP2 you know >.>.I dual-wield it with my Epic..that said new hardware will always come out..and at one point even my Epic will become out dated...its a natural life cycle..just because something is out dated does not mean its not good...it just means its not up to par spec wise with the newer gadgets...

Epic isn't a world phone. Is there a way to unlock the sim in a tp2 to work for US gsm networks? Would open up a ton more people to sell these too

Cooler than your EVO

The proto-type I hear had a sim but it got taken out on the final version I guess(Thats actually one cause of battery drain on the Epic, some firmware search for a GSM network lol)...I cant wait till the day when we all go LTE or something and then "hopefully" be able to get any phone on any network...

bright side is there is 4g wimax global roaming I guess :/ lol

But every device has its ups and downs..I mean if it had a sim..next thing you'd be telling me it can't tilt...lol..you can't have everything..I mean I still miss my IR port from my Mogul...but came a time to move on :/

Well you can still use it outside the border...and LTE and GSM are compatible..aka once CDMA is dead and all the CDMA phones become shiny pdas you might just still be able to use those GSM phones lol...I mean imagine yourself using a TP2 with GSM 20 years from now while we all communicate with each other via telepathy...lol

I still prefer CDMA here in the US over GSM due to carriers using weak encryption on GSM..aka anyone with spare 1k can intercept your signal and decode it.

But overall I dont see what sprint can gain out of t-mobile...I mean Sprint has already too much spectrum..what are they going to do with more 1.9ghz spectrum or more AWS spectrum?

I could see a point of the deal 2 years ago, but right now Sprint has no use for T-Mobile...AT&T on the other hand gains A LOT from the deal...but going through it will kill the mobile industry for us consumers...

I wish we would do what Russia did where all the carriers work together to build out an LTE network and then cross license each other...then we would finally be able to achieve 100% coverage in the US..but instead we have multiple carriers all roll out towers covering the exact same cities...waste of spectrum in my opinions :/

Re: how much is tp2 worth now?

Dated/outdated the TP2 will always be priceless because all the stars were aligned lol and brought everyone together without dividing lines. I still find ways to use mine. Don't see it going anywhere soon.

Re: how much is tp2 worth now?

It may be outdated by smartphone standards (mostly due to speed) but this phone is still far more capable than feature phones and even basic smartphones now.

$80 in good condition is a steal. I have an Epic and still like to play with the TP2. Energy Rom or Lead Rom + a little overclocking makes the phone fly. Between this site and XDA you can still find plenty of software to hold you down. I was floored by the IMDB app on the TP2 playing some nice quality trailers recently.
