I dont know how this relates to "Changing Ring Time Limit"...... at first i thought you meant you wanted your phone to ring longer than the default 31 seconds before going to voicemail...

Extended Battery of not, even changing your slot cycle from 3>2 is going to do noticeable strain on your battery... whats the point in buying a $40 battery if after you change the Slot Cycle youll get as much Battery Life as the stock battery...

Its not in your best interest to do this, Battery wise..
Ohh okay yea I was trying to make it ring longer... Some reason it did just that on the Samsung i760, it caused it to search the towers more for a signal constantly... I wonder if theres any other way to change the ring time limit.

Re: Increased Ring Time Limit

yea, the slot cycle is the only way to make a difference. it is a very rare occurrence that anyone has gotten sprint to change the time on their end. other carriers have been known to extend the time before fwd to v/m, so you could see if metro will do that for you.

I'm going to Boost Mobile, not metroPCS but from what all I've gathered... Only iDen networks are able to change it... Possibly GSM too but not CDMA for some reason... So IDK how that would work if I got Boost to change it while using a CDMA phone, since Boost uses an iDen and CDMA network

Re: Increased Ring Time Limit

I can't figure out where/how to get to the slot cycle index... ##786# doesn't go there, epst code 778 goes to the most advanced settins/menus then when I click view nam all I get is

nam name
mobile directory number
min1
min2
msid
mcc
mnc
nmsi
imsi
true min1
true min2
trume imsi s
true mcc
true mnc
true nmsi
true imsi
accolc
_

Scratch that:

do the ##778# and go into edit mode and it is under MODEM SETTINGS. just change it there to the number you want.

Re: Increased Ring Time Limit

well, every system has a ring count or time setting for when to fwd the call to voice mail. I know for a fact sprint can do it since a previous job that provided phones (sprint) had ours set for 90sec. unfortunately I think it's only something they will do for business accounts.

Yea you're really pulling at straws when trying to get them to change it, basically half the time cause the average agent doesn't know WTF you're talking/asking about and so they just shoot out the normal answer of no sorry we can't do that. LoL
