Re: Weather at GPS location

well this didn't ever bother me enough to hard reset, today I travelled in a different direction, and about an hour away from home it started working again, and then worked in Minneapolis, and Vegas.

I'm going to say its an issue with my local provider.

yea its always the people who use those custom databases that have these problems. i dont see the point in using one so i usually dont bother with it. especially since i have about 10 to 12 days left on this phone. hows that ROM coming along?

Yes, I agree with that. Glad to hear that your upgrade is so close on the horizon!! =]=]
I have been focusing my efforts on this Titan Beta Rom here lately... So the TP2 is still a ways out. Thank you for your encouragement about it though!! I enjoyed your profile message the other day as well!! It is so nice to have people who care!!

Re: Weather at GPS location

I will never suffer from a hard reset every again.
Instructions :-)
Hard reset
Install all your stuff. Get it "just" the way you like it.
SPB Backup.
DONE.

now when it borks on you you can hard reset RUN SPB restore and your DONE :-) exactly the way you had it (don't forget to run PIMBACKUP whenever you change stuff like contacts etc..) I run it weekly.

BTW whats a custom database and why use it? whats the purpose?

Re: Weather at GPS location

i dont even use PIMBACKUP i jus use exchange activesync with this live.com account i created especially for this purpose and for my wp7 upgrade jus days away. custom databases allow for different cities to be added for weather updates other than the ones already included, however the problem with them is the servers they update from go out. thats y theres so many threads about this problem.

Re: Weather at GPS location

I prefer to retain physical control over my data. uploading it to someone I don't trust (microsoft live.com) is just well does not cross me as a good idea. Plus with a hard copy if something goes wrong in anyway with internet or whatever I can still do what I need to do.

Hmm I have never once had the weather app "NOT" detect the exact city I am in with its default location based capacity.

do you live in an area where it does not properly detect the city your in? or are you using a different weather service all together for some reason? (I am curious ie maybe there is a reason I should want to use it :-)
