HTC Touch Pro 2 has an older processor than the HTC Touch Pro?

Was there any improvements in the processors, or why is the model name changed? I know the TP processor runs at 65nm and the TP2 runs at 90nm, but is that it?

What as the point of doing that? Anything else I need to know?

the processor in the TP2 was found to be more efficient than that of the TP.

Its not an older processor..its an alternative to go around some patent...

Re: HTC Touch Pro 2 has an older processor than the HTC Touch Pro?

I see, I have done some research and if it's 90nm that would mean more battery life correct? How is it more efficient? In addition to this question, I also read that the TP2 processor type was made in 2007 and used in phones before the TP2 while the TP1 processor was made last year.

Your definitely mistaken..TP1 existed 2 years ago and had a processor 1 year old?

TP1 has a Qualcomm MSM7501A
TP2 has a Qualcomm MSM7600

And realistically less nm means better battery life in general..but TP2 has a bigger battery and its other components are more efficient...

Re: HTC Touch Pro 2 has an older processor than the HTC Touch Pro?

" Qualcomm® MSM7201A™ 528 MHz" based on HTC - Products - HTC Touch Pro - Specification

and in that same website for Touch Pro 2 it says MSM7200A.

Thats the GSM version..your on Sprint right?

Either way only difference is the patent in GSM version..the CDMA version is a hybrid chip CDMA/GSM

Re: HTC Touch Pro 2 has an older processor than the HTC Touch Pro?

Here you go:

Quote:
In June 2007, the U.S. International Trade Commission blocked the import of new cell phone models based on particular Qualcomm microchips. They found that these Qualcomm microchips infringe patents owned by Broadcom. Broadcom has also initiated patent litigation in U.S. courts over this issue.
Qualcomm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aka the 0 and 1 differentiate in that patent..which is for 30fps video..
