Functional Flash 10.1? Did you get the OEM update from Sprint or did you odim and clockwork your way into it?

While there are leaked froyo builds which Epic users can flash via odin and clockwork, recently a leak to an update.zip was found on Google's servers which was believed to be either a GA or at least a RC1 ( DK28 ) of the Froyo (some people with older Epic hardware got it as an OTA)..This update.zip can be flashed via stock recovery without a need for clockwork, or odin.

Dial ##786# and enter MSL which will do a full wipe & reset and also clear your phone number. :)

Ok thanks. I found it by MSL by enabling logging in the registry per this http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-touch-...ml#post1224503

I flashed back to 6.5 stock rom and removed sim. Now time to create the ebay sale page =)

I love my EPIC wayyyy better than the TP2. Even from day one the TP2 was always a pita for me, sluggish pocket dialer..... I sometimes get frustrated with the Epic because sometimes I forget to hit the Send button the extra time when making a call b/c I am so use to the TP2 but it is so much better than accidentally calling someone on the TP2 when just trying to view contact info.

BTW, flashing back to stock - will it reverse the fact that the phone is unlocked?

Flashing the stock rom does not relock it. You have to run the re-locker to do that.

Sorry to hear you hate it so much.
I wouldn't trade mine.

Got a link and is it just for the Epic or will it work for the Captivate, as well?

Its only for the Epic, Captivate should have froyo builds as well but I think you need clockwork/odin to flash

I used odin to flash stock dk17 rom, very easy. Flash works on all websites I've tried, using stock browser u.c. Web browser and dolphin! Oh, Hulu is also working!

Don't do that! Makes more sense to upgrade to Sero 500 Premium for $10/month more. You get AnyMobile Anytime calling and can use Android phones. $10/month more for an Evo or Epic(i.e. 4G fee.)

So $50/month to use any phone you want and 500 landline minutes, unlimited cell minutes.

Most of those probably compared the Evo on 2.2 Android to the newly released Epic on 2.1 Android(with some reports of GPS issues.)

The Epic beats the Evo in Specs alone (superior GPU/CPU/Screen), not to mention it now has 2.2(though not official,) with a flawless GPS.

Thanks for the tip. Why do say it's only $10.00 more a mo but then say total is $50.00 instead of $40.00

Can I upgrade my $30 sero to $40 for sero 500 premium? plus tax and insurance it will be around $50 (is that what you meant).

The one review I read said epic screen in nice but sunshine completely wipes it out and does not on evo. And the larger size is nice. I use gps all the time and bigger bright light tolerable screen is important. I never use keyboard. And processor is better on epic but my understanding is they are close.

So it's pretty even.

Yes $40/ month for sero 500 premium. Except for the evo or epic, the only 2,so far, that also require the additional $10 cool fee!

Ooh didn't know about the "cool fee".

Any suggestions on whom to call for this plan upgrade and reasonable price on the EVO or Epic phone.

I'm 1 year in on TP2.

Thanks again for the info.

I just played with Android 2.2 on my TP2, looking pretty good but not real usable but it certainly gives you a good flavor.
