"Shutter" button for the camera

Heres just an idea for the camera on the TP2 . i have noticed on the TP2 there was no "shutter" button or camera button . every phone i ever owned had a camera button . one you would press to activate the camera and you pressed it again to take a picture . well the TP2 is pretty awesome .. i used kgbkeyboard controler to remap the volume up button to act as the "shutter" button on the phone to snap the picture .. you just hold it like you would a regular camera and press the volume up button . and voila it takes the picture . and where the TP2 is really smart it senses that the picture is not upright and when you go to view it the picture is right side up !!! i must say thats pretty coolio :P .. and the volume up button still works to turn the volume up .. i have it set that when you hold down the volUp button for a short time i think about 150 ms .. it takes the picture . and this remap is only active during the camera application thanks to a really cool feature in KGB keyboard controler .. so when im not in the camera app the phone still turns up the volume and everything . its really awesomeeee beats using the shutter button on the screen so much easier to take a pic !!! just thought id share

Good work!
I'm glad it worked for you.
Just so you know though, there is already an app/mod for this called Scilor's LeoCameraAnyKey that does what you did but congrats on coming up with your own solution.

Re: "Shutter" button for the camera

can you please give us detailed instructions on how u did this??? i used to do this all the time when the keyboard controller app first came out and it worked great but one day i flashed a new NRG rom and for some reason it never worked again on any of the new NRG roms to this day...

what rom are u on? and can u please list the options u selected to get this working? pretty much the only thing i need to know is what "Key" u selected, that simulates pressing the on-screen "Shutter" button... When it used to work for me all i did was long-press the volume up key and it simulated pressing the "Enter" key and it worked great... but like i said using that key no longer works for me.. Thank you very much!!

Same deal with me, it used to work great with manila 2.1 but since moving to senseui 2.5 it no longer work (because the enter button no longer triggers the shutter)

can someone please give a detailed explanation on how they got it to work on senseui 2.5 (if they did) TIA!
