hmm i dont think my tp2 came with a sim card but i dont use NRG (on 6.1 stock rom). as for the OP i think u should just try to get that TP of urs exchanged for a TP2 rather than tryin to buy one.

Honestly, I think if you install the stealth tethering cab on any rom you have to have a sim card installed to usb tether.

a few things:

detected by carrier??? 1) so what lol 2) I dont use stealth tethering period-No Charges Ever and I use of 30GBs a month

global mode?? 1) your wrong - i dont use a SIM at all and as previously stated, i tether 30GBs a month.. no SIM= cant possibly be in global mode

lastly- you do realize stealth tethering ONLY works for USB Tethering, not Wifi... so if you wifi tether, your carrier has seen it this whole time...

Carriers, well sprint and vzw(there were those issues for Telus and Tmo way back) will NOT charge you for tethering your TP2-no matter what... havent in 3 years ive been doing it and "stealth tether" has been around less time than the TP2.. so obviously its not really needed anyways

maybe with the newer builds, thats when it happened on NRG - when he went back to the lower 6.5.x builds(21xxx's i believe), shying away from the 235xx and 236xx builds, thats when it started... i use a July Rom still so it doesnt affect me anyways.. but NRG seems to be the only one people are posting the issue about...

You said you never used stealth tethering but if you use a custom rom the stealth tethering edits are usually done in all custom roms right? So..? :scratch:
