GPS help needed

I think that my GPS is not working properly on my tp2. When i try to get my location using bing it can't find it. When I try to use the sprint navigation it says it is searching for my gps, then it says my signal is weak even though i'm out in the open. the gps program port is set to "com4", the hardware port is set to "none", baud rate is 4800 and the box is checked for it manage automatically. i also have the box checked for htc location service and the my location feature works. i don't know what i can do to fix this. any help is appreciated. thanks

Have you updated QuickGPS lately?
Try soft resetting and after it has fully booted run QuickGPS and update it. Then wait a min and soft reset again. Then after it boots try bing again.

also make sure that your time is correct for the time zone you're physically in.

Re: GPS help needed

I had this problem with a replacement device I received. Only apps that used tower polling were able to locate me. But to be on the safe side, be sure that "Location Services" are turned on. Go to "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Personal" -> "Phone" -> "CDMA Services" -> "Location Setting"

Additionally I would look for a cab called Chartcross (it's cooked into a lot of custom roms in the GPS folder). I'm not entirely sure what it's for...but on it's simplest level it shows satellite strength. If your com port settings are correct and your in an area where you normally receive satellite data (this means you should not be in the basement or a fallout shelter) and your GPS is in fact functioning correctly, than this should tell you if you are receiving information from the Mothership.

On my end, I had to call Verizon and let them walk me through a myriad of steps and they finally decided to replace my replacement when my GPS still wouldn't locate me with the their paid for VZ navigator application.

Good Luck!
