whats involved to replace the bottom hard button keys?

so i did the hard reset on the phone, and the end button on my phone still doesn't work.

before i go into the repair center, i'd like to know if the following is true... since i don't really want to deal with a different screen since the newer ones seem to be a bit warmer in color, and i prefer the cooler whitish color i have now.

the sprint repair center told me the keys are attached to the screen and if i need to replace the non operating button, the entire front of the phone needs to be replaced.

is that true?

Honestly, I'm not sure, wish I knew more... I think there was a TP2 teardown thread a while back, you might find something in there... give it a search.

That is not true. Here is the "official" disassembly video, look closer to the end, around 4:30 min in this video as they get to removing those buttons. I am not sayign it is an easy task, but it is not true that the entire front needs to be replaced.

Wirelessly posted (htc Pocket PC: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)

The key switch is most likely attached to a printed circuit board which would probably mean you would have to replace the entire board so it is probably fixable. The thing is, unless you buy all the parts you need and you are able to open it up and replace those parts and put it back together without messing something else up then it may be a lost cause.
Good Luck to you! Let us know your results if you go for it. ;)
