Well I was getting greedy. No 806.4Mhz for me :( then again, I'm on a different ROM; NRG 9/8 24xxx. The following settings are bullet proof for me: 748, load max/min 100/0 jump max/min 80/3 interval 2000ms. try these settings if your on the same ROM fellas.

So you fixed the clock setting at 748, what about the battery?
When set to 100/0, does it matter to set interval at all?

load_min: 10
jump_max: 50
jump_min: 2
interval: 950ms

Working great! :)

I tried this with all your settings but, changed the CPU max to 806.4. This is the first time playing with over clocking and I have noticed a major improvement in the first 10 min of playing.

WOW, very, very noticeable and a big improvement so far with the few apps I have tried (a few games load a huge amount faster). Seems very stable so far, I tried to go up to 826.X and it locked up, so 806.4 is the max...

Wonder if this helps with TomTom lag and also wondering the hit on battery life in the real world...

I have to go for a ride later, I'll edit this post on my results with TomTom...

Edit: No difference with Tomtom, still about 2-3 seconds lag. Even if I was using a slow MicroSD(that I am not), its' a TomTom issue, as I have it showing my speed, even when I come to a complete stop, it still takes 2-4 seconds for it to reflect my speed as 0.

I don't see a drop in battery life when running 748Mhz, if so, it's negligible.
I believe the 2000ms interval is better for OCT and battery life, as the program isn't checking the cpu as often. (Once every two seconds).

**EDIT** Yea you would think when setting the load max/min to 100/0 the interval wouldn't matter. But when I set the interval to 0, I get hang ups. even with the rest of my settings the same. :/

Good for you!
Yesterday I thought for a moment that I could oc to 806 but turns out it's too unstable but I am able to run at 787.2 now which seems to be working ok. I changed the interval to 970ms to slow stepping slightly so it will stay at each speed a little longer. All my other settings are the same.

tried horndoctors settings as well, and works great at 729. Didnt even try a higher clock rate, figured stability rather than ultimate speed. Use my phone for work and should not even try to OC, but hey, it works great!

Running Vin's 8.14 Pluto CHT 8016 ... and ROM is very OC-friendly. My max OC increased, and now polling at 1500 is stable.

Very interesting settings.

To my understanding, Load Max/Min means that reach load max/min percentage the clock will be stepped to max/min speed. Jump max/min means the clock will jump to max/min when reach the cpu usage percentage. Set to jump max/min at 35 will just bypass the load min, either go max clock when sampled result is above 35% or go min clock when is below 35%.
BTW, the min speed will increase when I increase the max clock speed. I saw sb. posted to set min clock at 30MHz, but don't know how.

Edit: OK, I figured that out, by setting the steps you can get min clock to be lower. Now I set at 729.6Mhz, steps 15 load 3|10-45|50%and the min clock went to 45.6Mhz. BTW, I don't see it give me any benefit, feel slower. Might help on battery life. But I won't recommend setting up too many steps, might just make system more unstable because it tries to change the clock speed too frequently?(through all the steps)

I take back my word, although you have max/min to 100/0, you still set jump at 80/3, so when it sees cpu at 80%, it will go full speed, but sees 3%, it will go lowest speed, which make sense for your battery life. I assume jump take priority.

Hi, I was wondering if there was any harm bringing the frequency clock to such high level. I mean, 806 MHz reprensent around 50% increase. It must be stressing the CPU like hell, making it run warmer. It surely reduce the life expextancy of the chip, am I right?

I would really like to get into this overclocking stuff but I just got this phone and I plan on keeping it a little while. I don't want it to brake in less than a year.

Still having issues getting the settings to stick after a soft reset.
Could someone baby-step walk me through the steps on how to make the settings stick?
I tried to set and then turn the overclocking on/off, on/off, on/off using the GUI interface, but the settings won't stick.

Thanks in advance

I understand your concern and I thought about it as well. I think the dynamic benefit that this app gives helps to take some stress off the cpu by allowing us to set it so the max speed is achieved in short bursts. I think that if the cpu was overclocked constantly it would put too much stress on it. Also, I think that it is probably better to set things up so the lowest speed is not really low like less than 200mhz because I would think that jumping from lets say 80mhz to 800mhz in an instant would result in a huge temperature variation which would probably really stress the cpu. Just my opinion though. ;)
