As long as I can send text message application without the phone freezing up for 3 minutes.

I used to have respect for android until its fanboy users came in to tp2 or any other wm related thread and started bashing it, we wm users don't do that and still probably won't when wp7 comes out.

The OS sucks. Ive had a Windows Mobile device for the past 6-7 years and they've all been terrible. I dont know why I kept going back.. I guess I was hoping they'd get it right one day.. You'd think itd at least run fast on new hardware since MS has barely put any effort into underlying the OS... Also BB doesnt get excluded nearly as much as WM does. NOTHING is made for Windows Mobile anymore.. I mean, even easy little stuff like this..

Well I care.. I actually want to do stuff with these smartphones and the TP2 fails at that.

Im running Stock VZ MR2 ROM. So are my two coworkers who have the same exact phone on VZ. Same issues on all three phones.

lol WP7. 7 Years of pain at the hands of MS is enough. I ordered the Droid X.. I still have a year left on my contract, so maybe WP7 will be out by then and Ill get an upgrade discount. Right now, Im 600 dollars poorer because Windows Mobile 6.5 is that bad.

OMG dude yelp?? en serio?? just goto the full version of the yelp site and do everything there, the wm browsers are powerful enough to use that site. theres also apps that have the same capabilities such as BING, GOOGLE MAPS, and a few others that i saw in the marketplace. my phone works just fine,i dont know what your doing with yours, i dont get those text freezes on this 6.1 rom im running so ill agree on 6.5 being buggy in that regard. ive been on WinMo almost as long as you have i started with an ipag 1910-dell axim x50-dell axim x50v-dell axim x51v-htc touch pro and now im on my tp2, these are all great devices that can do the same things you can do on a COMPUTER,not what other smartphones can do.

where did you get your statistics about the number of battery draining/trojan apps on both winmo and android?

im here because i still use my tp2 daily and still enjoy tinkering with it. winmo is not all that bad imo, its is still a great os but its just not the king of the hill anymore. its like a ps2. sure there is much fun to be had with the huge library of playstation 2 games but its far from the best thing out there when it comes to consoles.

HUH?!! Well I got the EVO a few days ago......

They want to charge me $30 for hotspot... used to be able to do it for free on my TP2.

No more Office, there is a reader, yet to create a document, I have to buy an app...:-(

Wheres my taskmanger?.............have to buy one...:-(

Where are all my cool programs/apps?..........have to buy them...:-(

Im still to new to the Evo to start bashing it though. It is fast, and I love the huge screen. The productivity features on the Evo seems to be 2nd to the TP2 though.

MR 6.20 Version with oveclock at 768 gets you super smooth and super fast on the TP2. Try that if you feel it is sluggish.

running free wifi on the tp2 was free because of a hack (reg tweak or by finding an older version on wmwifirouter) the same can be done with your evo. root it then look for wifi tether in the market, its free.

office, well yes being a microsoft suite you will have to pay for it on other os's, thats to be expected though.

as for the task manager, do u need one for closing out programs or for switching between programs? depends on your reason for it but there are free solutions for both

majority of apps in the market are free. what specific "cool program/app" are you looking for? perhaps i may be able to help u find it. honestly searching for apps in the market on the phone is a real pain in the ass atm (still easier than scouring thru online forums though). you should goto appbrain.com for searching for apps.

EDIT: in terms of productivity it depends on what u mean by that. i find a lot of productivity apps on android to be comprable if not better on android, especially tasks programs. its crazy that tasks, something that microsoft essentially made popular themselves with outlook, can be handled so much better on another platform
