Re: New SERO Oct 1st

Is there going to be a Windows phone with better specs released? I mean, I'd have to pay $20 extra just to get the Epic. If we could get a windows phone with newer specs, porting android to it wouldn't be so hard. Android port on the Hd2 isn't bad at all.

The whole reason people were porting Android onto WM phones was because it was the only way to have an Android device while on SERO. If SERO users are able to use Android devices come October 1st, why would anyone intentionally pick a WM phone only to install Android on it?

Hi Russ,
Are either of the SERO up-charges ($10 or $10+10 for Evo) mandatory? Can I keep my current phone & SERO plan without adding these fees?

Ralph - great question. If you don’t currently have one of the iconic devices (and you shouldn’t), then, as I understand it, it’s purely optional whether or not you step up to the premium plans (with their choice of devices).

That's what Russ told that guy.

Keep in mind though...if you take the plunge and upgrade your phone to one of the iconic devices, you're pretty much changing your plan and you can't revert back. It's not like the current $10 BIS option for Blackberry users.

Maybe I should have waiting until Oct 1st to upgrade my phone instead of upgrading it recently.

I'm betting that they'll eventually waive the additional $10/$20 charges and allow SERO Subscribers to upgrade to ICONIC Devices AND keep their $30 plans.

In 6 months I'll be sporting an EPIC on my Sero Plan for $30/month.

Sounds like you need to get a Google Voice number and Add the FREE Sprint to Home option using the GV number.

I just Took over a SERO account and added the FREE Spritn to Home Option(added my GV number). You then essentially have unlimited anytime minutes. Use your GV number to call out to any # and it charges it as free Sprint to Home, also works on incoming when they call your GV number!

hmmm...have GV, had it since it was in beta. Really I was only using it for when I went over my spending limit and only was allowed incoming calls, I could then receive the GV incoming call to call someone.

I didn't know about the Sprint to Home option...

Is there a way for my cell number to show up on someone's Caller ID when I'm using the GV line?

In 6 month Epic will be absolete. Here come dual core phones.

Found something on Howard Forums stating that WebOS and Android will now be included on SERO. Looks like I will keep the Pre for the wife until Oct 1st and see instead of selling it.
