[Resolved]Task Manager/App Switcher

ArkSwitch, and HTC Taskmanager; neither worked, and Ark almost bricked my phone, is there one for WinMo 6.5 that will let me switch from app to app, and also kill unwanted process/apps?

Re: Task Manager/App Switcher

stock 6.5 rom? try this. native winmo drop down task manager to the top corner of the screen where the "x" is.

The only way to brick one of these htc phones is to flash a GSM/other device radio to your CDMA device or 'unlock' your CDMA phone with the GSM unlocker. There's no way arkswitch (which is made for 6.5.x mostly) could brick your phone...

Just use htc taskmanager or xperia x2 taskmanager or resco taskmanger or etc. etc.

Or just use the built-in Task Manger with a shortcut in whichever screen you prefer.

See images

I can see why you might still want the old drop-down manager if you are in an application and can't switch to the Home screen, but you can always hit the "Start" soft-key or the Windows hard key to access your programs.

Just my $0.02 YMMV

Re: Task Manager/App Switcher

you can assign the "built in" taskmanager to the long press of the send key if you dont currently use that for anything, but the op said he didnt like the htc taskmanager or "built in" as you refered to it.

JDs slow your device when loading... you can literally watch sense load, and still have to wait till you see the drop down in the corner b4 you can use your phone at all... not cool..

DOT FRED TASK MANAGER..attached.. no cab, just an exe you can run from sd or device... shows EVERTHING!!

Re: Task Manager/App Switcher

Oh aha, I never even saw the task manager in there before.
And what I mean by bricked is that when I had it installed it wouldn't load past the WinMo Flag screen.

How would I go about assigning it to the long send key?

Re: Task Manager/App Switcher

start menu > settings > personal >buttons > program buttons.
if youve never been there before send key will be the first option. just assign the program there.

thats why i was holding out for the epic 4g. my gf is getting the evo at the same time.
i think now that there is a GOOD slider smartphone on sprint, and since this forum is primarily sprint users, the touch pro 2 forum will be a ghost town. fortunatly as bored said, all the answers are already out there.
wont really be a ghost town. ask anyone around here. we are ALL up in ALL the forums. im in the tp forums daily just to check in and i havent had that phone for a year.

well i havent decided yet if im grabbing an EPIC, and theres quite a few holding out for WP7, so there will still be a few of us here helping out in TP2 forum at least..

From all I've read on here, WP7 is a big letdown pile of donkey turds.

Re: [Resolved]Task Manager/App Switcher

im interested, although im not a fan of xbox and zune intergration, no exposed file system, no usb mode (ties in to zune software) and isolated memory (if you remove the sd card it essentially hard resets). as for the "copy and paste" and multi tasking, i know thats on the way. i kinda like that there is no backwards compatibility for winmo apps. its a true clean slate.

im not interested in WP7 at all, but its all speculation, NOONE has touched a WP7 phone expect for 1000 MS employees the last few months.. so noone really know what its gonna be like to actually use the thing..

you say that till you wanna install the first 3rd party app.. oh wait, theres no development yet for WP7, there are no 3rd party apps available... its gonna be bone dry for a bit.. hope you like zune and 360 a TON because thats about the only cool thing its gonna do for awhile.. lol
