Setting Questions/Help on Sprint Stock WM 6.5 TP2

I am a newbie - 1st post to this forum so be gentle on me... I am a beginner on this phone or any smartphone for that matter (work previously used Nextel phones). I have a few questions that I can’t seem to find by searching – not sure if they can be changed/fixed?

1) How can I turn off the automatic dialing with one touch? Maybe I have fat fingers but I constantly touch a contacts name or hit the previously dialed number or phone icon in an email header and it automatically calls that person. Not good when you accidentally call your regional manager at 11:30pm for no good reason. Can I turn this feature off so I have to actually press TALK or CALL to have the phone dial?

2) Can I modify my signature in the email signature settings on the phone with different fonts or an attached signature block? Where is the signature file saved - can I paste my standard Outlook version of my signature on the phone so that it looks just like my desktop Outlook signature format?

3) I want to “include body when replying to e-mail” for my work Outlook exchange account, but don’t want to include the body of the previous message when texting or using my personal email account. I don’t see separate settings for each account for this – is there a way to reply with previous body of message for one account and not another?

Also, any suggestions on stock ROM tweaks that will make things run faster, more efficiently and include some additional functions/options. I was considering the TP2 Cleanup, but some people have reported bugs. So, not sure if that is the best place to start. I would also like to tether my laptop – any suggestions on the best method/settings and real basic “how to” instructions?

Thanks in advance for any assistance - E

2) email sig.. go into your email inbox>menu>tools>option>signatures.. change to your liking

3)include body.. gointo your email inbox>instead of picking an account, selct message tab>check box for "include body" - doesnt look like you can do this on an account by account basis..from here anyways..

stock tweaks.. theres a few threads dedicated to stock 6.5 tweaks in this forum http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=114806 ...cookie home tab is a good place to start as well...

for tethering this should work for ya

Re: Setting Questions/Help on Sprint Stock WM 6.5 TP2

Thanks bored.

2) I wasn't clear in my original question. I have already modified my email sig in the location you indicated, but there are no font/color customizable options so I can modify it to match my desktop email signature. I was wondering if the signature file is saved someplace on the phone and that file could be replaced with a different sig file with better graphics or a way to access more fonts/colors and graphic options for the email sig?

3) That is the location I identified as well for that setting and it appears that it is either include body or not for all accounts. I could not find another setting location that changed this by account. Seems odd... Maybe it is just me - I never respond to a text and include the previous text or sting of text messages, but always include the email body on work emails. If there is no other option, looks like I will have to check and uncheck this box based on the messaging type (account) I am using, prior to replying to each and every message - that's a drag.

I appreciate the tweak link and tether mods - I'll check them out.

Thanks - E

So I just tried something, I opened pocket word changed the Font and made a signature cut it and pasted it into the outlook sig box. sent a test e-mail and it did not change anything, I am pretty sure that it is just one of the limitations for Pocket Outlook.

Do you really want to do this? How about recipients who don't have those fonts installed? How about people reading your emails on devices that don't support font attribute tags? Most email signatures add little and detract much. In my opinion, being unable to gussy up an email signature is a valuable feature.

As far as disabling one-touch dialing, one option is to disable the People tab.

Thanks mstevens.

Understood on the signature, however, work has a standardized email signature format that everyone has to use for our Outlook email - so recipients that don't have those capabilities wont see it when I send an email from my desktop either. Not my doing it is a company thing... It isn't a significant modification, just a few color and font type/size company "branding" changes. I just wanted to match the sig on my mobile to my standardized company desktop version.

I already have the People tab removed. I’m referring to the issue of the phone automatically dialing when I inadvertently tap a previous call line when trying to scroll through the previous calls list or when I receive an email and the phone icon to call that person is in the email header directly adjacent to the OK tab to exit that screen in the right hand corner and the phone tab is tapped instead. Just wondering if the phone could be set to dial out only when the CALL or TALK tab is selected not automatically when any contact, previous call, or email header icon is tapped, especially in screens other than the phone screen? Or maybe a hold function – press and hold that tab for a second or two to select instead of a mis-fingered tap (I know… that’s what the girl said at the picnic).

As indicated, these may be limitations (or features depending on your needs) of the phone that I will adjust to with further use.

Thanks again - E

Re: Setting Questions/Help on Sprint Stock WM 6.5 TP2

I've never had any luck changing fonts, but my previous Sprint TP with WM 6.1 and my current Sprint TP2 with stock WM 6.5 both have a drop down list for Outlook E-Mail, (my personal) Gmail, and SMS / MMS. I can use or not use, and/or change each signature and it works for me.

your reading too deep into your question.. when you reply to a text, its not gonna attach the message your replying to like an email does... text doesnt work that way.. your texts will be fine

A related question would be, where in the O/S is the signatures kept? If I want to back them up?
