Re: All the roms i install dont work one way or another
your gonna hear about using task 29 next im sure... flash task 29, flash stock rom, hard reset, flash the custom rom...
i personally have never used ask 29 as i think its unneccesary, but im sure that those are the steps most likely to be told to you

Re: All the roms i install dont work one way or another
Are you doing a hard reset before you flash?
Flashing to stock before flashing another ROM? Theoretically, you could just flash from ROM to ROM, but it's more than possible to flash a ROM that doesn't completely copy over the previous ROM. So you have left over files that don't get copied over that can affect the new ROM differently. That may not be exactly how it happens, but I know that I've flashed a ROM before and the boot up screen was still the same as the ROM before. Even though I continued to use the ROM anyway, I had issues with it untill I flash to stock and then re-flashed the same ROM. You'll find that plenty of people on here have flashed ROMS, had a problem and flashed to stock again and the problems ceased. |

Re: All the roms i install dont work one way or another
As the other two posters said, you should do that "flash dance"
Personally I do this every time i flash to a new rom: Flash to stock (your carrier's stock rom) hard reset the stock rom (clean storage via settings is good enough) flash to the new rom you want hard reset the new rom (clean storage via settings is good enough) now you should be all set if you want to be really thorough, you can hard reset (clean storage via settings) on your current rom before flashing to stock, but I usually skip that step. I know this sounds time consuming, but it's really only an extra 10 mins, and should solve you tons of headaches. |

If you have questions He usually answers it within a day or so. Give his V9.8 a try. I was running it for like a week with very very minor problems. Give it a shot. ALong with task 29 have you tried removing all the stuff from your sd card copy the personal items only to your hard drive format your sdcard and copy the stuff back to the card. Sometimes programs and hidden files from old roms cause problems with the rom your running. Good luck! |

Here's a link to stock ROMs, not sure which one you need as you note Boost for your service. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=91940

Re: All the roms i install dont work one way or another
before? what's the point in that? i think you meant after. doing it after is the way it's been recommended for years.
@SubtleA, i always just flash the new rom and do a clear storage (hard reset). i've never used task29 cause i think it's pointless for regular flashing, but since you are havin problems, it's worth a try. Also, give Mr.X rom a try. Last edited by razorloves; 08-06-2010 at 05:13 AM. |
