Sleep of Death - Phone will not turn on

A few weeks ago, my sprint TP2 started to experience Sleep of Death occasionally. However, recently it won't be able to show the screen at all. If I remove the battery and put it back on, the screen is on but when I turn it off, it will never turn on. I tried many Roms include Mr.X and 6.1 rom but none help. I think there might be a problem with the proximity sensor but I don't know how to check it. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks a lot.

Well to be honest my best advice would be to task 29. Flash a custom ROM. Task 29 again and flash the ROM of your choice and clear storage a few times. I personally experienced the SOD and it was not good. I task 29 and flashed a Sprint based ROM. Then I task 29 again and flashed a custom ROM. Cleared storage like 3 times. Task 29 again and then flashed my current ROM which is Vins latest. Most ppl would disagree with me and say task 29 is not needed that many times but NOBODY has found a definite solution to fixing the problem so I would be open to trying anything.

Thanks. I tried what you suggest but the phone is still dead after task 29 and a few clear storage. The weird thing is that the phone is dead even right after a fresh ROMs. I don't know if it's a software problem anymore.

I would suggest replacing it then my good friend.

I had this issue recently. The last thing I did was flash task 29 and then flash Silence Rom. Since then I've been very happy with my TP2 again. Before that ... I almost through it out the window a few times. What good is a phone that doesn't work when you need to make a damn call.
