Cannot Connect to Data Network in UK

Sorry if this has been asked somewhere, but I am in the UK and struggling to get my TP2 to pick up the Vodafone data network. I paid for the Verizon data package before I left, and the phone picks up the network fine for voice and SMS, but always shows the connection error message (Dialed #777...) for all data access. I have had no data access since I arrived in London. Verizon has *not* been helpful after many Skype calls to tech support. I'm afraid MightyROM may not allow this to work properly here?? Does anyone know how to get this phone to register properly on the Vodafone (or any other network in the UK) for data access? This is very disappointing for a phone that is supposed to be a world phone.
Using MightyROM WWE from about February 2010 timeframe.
