So the BF decided to b a nosey bastard and somehow got into my phone. No way he coulda found out the password. Left him alone with my phone for ten min & when i came bk he had somehow got in. ssid his friend works for sprint n told him how to get in. of course im pissed but at the same time wanna kno how he did it since he wont tell me!

Wow, talk about trust issues (you with him not seeing your phone, and him not telling you what he did) - there are bigger questions here than, "is there a master phone password?", which if you've changed the password, doesn't exist. So maybe you left it unlocked? And with a username like Sinful, no wonder your BF is trying to get into your phone :mrgreen:.

yeah maybe you left it unlocked? because i know that if you password protect access to your phone, it's not something transmitted to sprint's system where they can just reset the password for you.

if you didn't leave it unlocked, maybe there was a point in time where he saw you enter it. maybe he's just playing mind games with you. of course, with him saying a friend from sprint told him how to get into password protected phone, you'll think no matter what password you change it to, he can work his magic way and still get into the phone in hopes of you ending up not password protecting your device when he's around. that's much more better than him telling you he knows your password because he saw you type it in.

i'd put him to the test. pick a word in the dictionary and change your password to that word. then dare him to work his magic. if he can't do it the second time around...he's bs'ing you with his "magic way" to get into your phone.

If you used the default Windows Mobile lock, there is no way he could have gotten in without the correct PIN.

Yes. You would have to do a hard reset to get past the password, but that would erase all user data.

BTW, if your BF did use a Sprint employee to get ANY info on your account, he is risking getting that 'friend' fired.

If you dont require your password to be used when its connected to activesync he could have just simply plugged it into your computer.

I don't belive that the phone reboots locked.

This would make sense if he just pressed the reset button (or the correct key combo which may be what the 'Sprint Friend' told him) and then waited for the phone to come back up.

The phone reboots locked if you use the built-in WM lock. I'd love to know the truth behind the original post...there are a lot of possibilities.

it depends on what locking app is used, if its the default WM lock the only way around it i know of is activesync (but even that only works if you set the option on the PC, which a security-conscious person wouldnt do)

personally i use S2U2 with a password, which also locks on soft reset. with s2u2 there is a way to find the password if its already unlocked (then you can use the password to unlock it later) but if you dont already know how to do that im not sharing :)

youd be surprised how often this isnt true

although i dont agree with the OP's bf invading her privacy like that....it might be a good idea to delete any incriminating evidence after receiving/sending/ text messages and call log. my advice...if you have to think "is he/she going to see this in the future?" then its best to take a mental picture and delete! :mrgreen:

Or just create a random folder inside your Program Files directory on your PC, copy all your discriminating pics into there and name the folder something like \Microsoft Backup (something they'd never think to look at or look for) and you can even make it hidden if you're that cautious/slick... But I mean that's just an idea I've never done it or anything... :evil4:

How did you get the # ? I just have a regular lock screen with 0-9, a back button, an X button, and an unlock button in the builtin WM lock.

EDIT: Wait... That spells #UNLOCK#. Doesn't that only work for carrier unlocking phones?

so wait...if a tp2 was locked by the owner from prying eyes, all you a person need to do is ##UNLOCK# and it bypasses the system password the owner set up? what madness is this?!?!?!?!?!

hehehe....good info though. this would actually work for me. even when i want to put a password on my device, i dont because i always forget the password when i password protect my devices. sometimes after an hour ive already forgotten it.
