I could be wrong but I think the Android Market has many apps that WinMo doesn't have like the Flixster app that let's me watch the movie trailers of the movies at the theater I want to go to, baby learning games for my kids, Trapster, 100% functional Pandora, etc. WinMo has Android beat on medical apps though. I don't like the fact that MS will make us pay for the same apps we used on 6.5 and under for WP7 and kill all ROM development. (not saying xda won't eventually crack the code, but it sounds like MS isn't playing). All that said I still love my TP2, hence the reason I am still over here and keeping my custom ROM signatures....LMBO

1. use youtube to see all movie trailers
2. get your kids an ipod touch so they aren't always stealing your phone (or try resco brain games):-P
3. Winmo has had fully functional pandora longer than android has been out. It needs a new skin job, but it is fully functional (just ugly).
I think the only valid reason for the EVO is the specs that double+ all the tp2 specs. That's why I decided to get an HD2 and give t-mobile a try.

Thanks for the humor in the post...LOL
Does the HD2 do the sleep of death thing and does it lag like our TP2's?

I was using Zillow for the first time on the Evo and it can track your location as you move to pull up the prices of houses.

task29 cant make the phone faster or add more processing power. the benefits from task 29 are no where near the benefits had from getting abetter phone, not sure how those 2 things are evn related

Re: Strong Points of the TP2 [over Android]

Interesting thread.

The thing I find fascinating is that most Evo Owners in this thread are previous or concurrent TP2 owners and will openly and easily admit that the TP2 is a fantastic WM phone. WM is a good and flexible platform. That being said, using a new mobile platform has allowed those Evo owners to recognize some of the short comings of windows mobile. Some of those have been addressed here. Not sure why those opinions are discounted. There maybe some third party apps that try to address those shortfalls, but it's difficult to argue that those are = or > than an OS where those features were built into the OS to ensure seamless integration.

Many of the counterpoints have been pretty valid, in terms of modification, flashing, etc, there isn't really anything that puts one OS ahead of another, other than probably Android is still a living breathing OS, where WM is on the Wane in favor of WP7. But the best feature of any Android phone that WM has yet to come close to, is an Open and centralized market. I know Microsoft has tried creating one, and there are others, but they really pale in comparison to the Android offerings or even the Apple App store offerings. Truly a great feature, and the fact it's an open ecosystem (as compared to Apple's), makes it that much better.

If Sprint had the HD2, and WM had a GOOD centralized market, then the Android jump would have been oh so much harder.

The other thing I like, and this is more personal preference than anything, is that out of the box I had to do some flashing to get my TP2 to where I liked it. The Evo, or even my Samsung moment, I just rooted it, and added widgets for everything else I desired. Customization made easy, no need to rely on a chef to cook it into a ROM for me (like so many of us had to do for the various versions of sense floating out there).

All in all the TP2 was a great experience for me, and still a phone I would recommend for someone looking for a Windows Mobile Phone. But personally WM is not a viable option for me anymore (preference driven), until I see what WP7 offers, and what type of support it gets from the App developer community.

4. Damn near every App. on Droid you can get on windows.

5. Maxsense, a growning U.I. that is the SHIZZ-NIT.

6. All the people that help, the community.

7. All the different CABS. and ZIPS; Themes (different colors) and customs.

8. CHEF's: ERG, VINN, Mr.X (still using some of his app. in all the different ROM's I flash) and Mighty.

9. Then your SATODS and BignAdad (I call him BIGGS)

10. I think the TP2 (HD2) has more fans.

So on that note; I'll wait to get a DROID phone as long as they have the TOP TEN, MY TP2 IS A TEN, Till they come out with something that has all the above.:toothy7:

Please tell me what you think.

P.S. I'm still a noob... LMAO

1-evo has a lot of ROMs too (better IMO)
2- ok you got me
3-same on EVO
4-wrong
5-sense on Evo....way better
6-GREAT help on EVO thread as well. (Most came from TP2 area)
7-Same as EVO
8-one ROM to rule them all (Fresh) and lets not forget OMJ
9-^^^^^
10.Evo's android OS is WAY smother than ANY WM ROM I have EVER used. I have been around her for a while now.

PS Have you even used and Android phone yet?

#1`reason TP2 is better? You can afford the monthly bill!!!
EVO = over $700 more a year (for those paying for it themselves (like me)... not including discounts!) (not using some old tricks...I do use..)

Here's a link to a hater thread..! HA! I was called a troll, etc ... LOL! ..and then some **** deleted***** closed it! No valid conversation or difference of opinion allowed! LOL again! (now my account will probably be closed! :>))

"EVO Expensive! $130/month? REQUIRES Everything Data + $10, over 2X the cost!"

Winmo WAS good but its days are over.. and we all kno winmo 7 is lame... im sorry but my next device is going to be an android phone.. after running android on my tp2 i get kinda depressed when i have to go back to windows. Winmo is too slow and laggy. Even on the hd2 its laggy despite all of the great specs the phone has ( trust me i have used the device).. And honestly the only reason most of us chance roms is because they never work right in the first place.. I am in no way a winmo hater (check my sig). I have been rocking winmo since the tmobile mda, and i was a diehard. But its just time to move on

And as far as the monthly bill.. im willing to pay the extra money if it means i have a phone that just works
