It will still be unlocked, you can go to settings -> all settings -> personal -> security and it will say sim unlocked.

Now onto my question: I also previously unlocked / activated my Sim card by calling Verizon and getting the Sim card unlock #. I can't tell if it got erased when installing the MR2? I don't use the Sim card but unlocked it in the past just b/c it was nice to know it could be used. Do i have to call them again to activate the Sim card. How do I tell if anything has changed?
