Unlock Verizon Phone

I'm currently using a TP2 that already has the update to 6.5 on it but I'd like to go to the MR2 that everyone is talking about. I download MR. X's version, but apparently I need to unlock my SIM first.

I've used the search on here but I keep finding sprint users, I've got Verizon. It's my business phone so I need to be sure I do this right. Just to be sure, when I go to Start/settings/all settings/personal/Security - this asks for a SIM unlock code. That means it's not already unlocked correct?

So, how do I go about unlocking this verizon TP2 so I can install Mr. X's update?

SIM lock/unlock has nothing to do with what you need.

make sure you have synced your phone with ActiveSync (Win XP ) or WMDC ( Vista/7) immediately before starting.

Make sure you have all the stuff on your phone backed up ( ActiveSync doesn't sync *everything* Microsoft "MyPHone" is an excellent app, it's in your Programs folder )

Go here, get the unlocker, and follow directions.

Then go here, flash with Mr X MR2 ROM, enjoy

+1 on what aiiee said. you need to be HSPL unlocked, not SIM unlocked. Flashing the MR2 upgrade will delete eveything on your phone (not your SD card). The HSPL is the same for Sprint/Verizon.

Be sure to check out this link as well. There have been issues with the unlocker recently. Reading this may save you some heartache.

I have the sprint tp2 phone that I am trying to hspl unlock so I can install a custom rom and am having no luck whatsoever. When I run the unlocker the phone just times out and sits there. I have followed the guides and can't get anything to work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

more info is needed. Are you connected via active sync to your computer? Is WMDC running? You may need to run the unlocker as an administrator to get it to work of you are using vista. Make sure all firewalls and antivirus are disabled.

I am am connected to active sync, am running as admin, running under windows xp, all firewalls and antivirus are shut down and disabled. Any other ideas or suggestions? The phone is half flashed I guess...talk and text work, but would love to get the web and mms working.

????? this is a sprint phone, being used on sprint? it should be all or nothing! htere is no half flash. does the computer give you any messges when it times out?
