Re: Best GPS with TTS
iGo is too much of a headache to get to work properly on the TP2.
Bing is a pretty great free alternative. I prefer Garmin XT but that's because I have been using Garmin products for years. Another app you might want to try is Waze. I stopped using it, but it's nice cuz it's also free and does TTS. May not read out the street names, but it does everything else. |

Re: Best GPS with TTS
+1 for Bing. I like AmazeGPS also and it is free. I liked iGuidance 4 (it has TTS) until I move to the TP2/WM 6.5, but the TTS didn't always work properly in WM 6.5. Beside, how can you beat FREE?

Re: Best GPS with TTS
i got iGo8 with tts working well, but there are so many addresses and resteraunts it doesnt recognize and that is with 2009 maps.
I assume bing requires network service so that is only partially helpful to me. thanks |

Re: Best GPS with TTS
igo8 is probably the best map prog w/ TTS. I group Igo8(and others like iguidance, TomTom) separate from gmap& Bing since they don't require data connection to work (good for 0versea). Igo8 might be a little harder to get working but it is the most customizable and also have very extensive map collections. There is a thread on getting TTS to work on here in sticky. I put the link for the smaller speech pack which definitely work and requires less memory as well as working multi resolution data and branding.zip.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...83#post1769183 I highly rec Igo8. |
