Touchscreen Not working... sort of
 

Haven't used my touch pro2 in over a week. Charged it and tried to use it but the screen isn't responding... sort of. It's not responding to touch points but it does know I'm touching it as indicated by the change from dark to light on the LCD. The screen isn't physically damaged, just not responding.

I'm out of warranty and all hope is pretty much lost with getting a replacement. Does anyone know where I can by a replacement screen? I've been told it's impossible to replace the digitizer due to high pressure glue and some sort of laser apparatus.

Any help is appreciated.

Before you go trying to tear the thing apart have you tried doing a few soft resets or a few hard resets?

EDIT: Nevermind, 2 subsequent posts enlightened me where coffee failed me this morning.

What does it mean that the screen is "not responding" but "changes from dark to light"? Can you clarify?

I am pretty sure he is referring the the back light, but just my guess.

Thats what it sounds like. When he touches it, it changes from a dimmer backlight to full brightness, but is still unresponsive as to where it is being touched.

Do you have a screen protector on? If so take it off and look underneath. I had this same issue awhile back. When I took the protector off it had rainbow banding underneath causing it to be unresponsive
