I also average around 50kbps all the time and the EVDO icon is on the task bar of the HTC TP2. I am on Sprint also. So, there real conclusion is, internet speeds on Sprint are not even close to what they brag about or more sadly as advertised.

yea i guess you could call it a dead zone almost... sprint says i dont have evdo in my area and the only way i am able to get Ev is if i select HDR Only in EPST or use WMLongLife (buggy).... and both of those lock the phone in Ev so i am unable to reci8-[works in my advantage, sometimes it doesnt...

I am desperately searching for a method to allow me to get Ev and switch back to 1X automatically for calls and texts... ive searched for this for than anything, i think its an addiction 8-[

Not to be off topic but this is why I see 4G as a definite upgrade.
My 3G data speed is all over the place all over the place also.
So based on the comments here, it appears to me that they've patched together & maxed out all they can on the 3g pipe without consistent end results.

Now, it could be just some network issues but I tend to think that moving ppl off of 3g onto 4g alleviates some of the bottenecks & would improve speed.
